In America, we were introduced to Apples to Apples. This game can either be played seriously or jokingly. The "judge" draws a Green Card and the players all have seven Red Cards. The game is essentially about comparisons; whether they are serious or not.

For example; when we were playing, the Adjective card "Sexy" was drawn. Instead of playing a person, I took it upon myself to place "Barfing" while my friend simultaneously placed "Festering Wounds" down. This is where the game becomes hilariously funny. Another example; the Adjective "Neglected" was drawn. My Mother put down "My Love Life" and she nearly fell from her chair laughing.

The game is brilliant, so, why not create one in Na'vi? We could either just use the adjectives that already exist in the game but change the nouns so they reference the movie or the language. I suppose that we could include a few modern social figures in there as well.
The game also comes with blank cards; enabling you to write your own Green or Red cards, making your own game unique.

Here's a sample Noun and Adjective card I've created:

Leave your comments and suggestions here; I would really like to see this project's progress!

That sounds like an awesome idea! I like using the adjectives we already have. How did you make those cards, did you use a bunch of the "create your own" cards?

I really don't know how we'd go about creating it.. Maybe we could request 100 special orders?

I wonder how much that would cost....but how did you make the ones pictured here?

They're not real, unfortunately. I just used an image of the blank cards and wrote the Noun/Adjective with Paint.

I suppose we'd have to email Parker Brothers™ or whoever created the game. Maybe they could make us a few unique sets?

Okay, I just discovered that Mattel makes the game. I will see if I can contact them. Stay tuned.

QuoteGreetings.
I am the temporary representative of www.learnnavi.org for this message. I went to America and was introduced to "Apples to Apples" and I fell in love with the game. We bought ourselves a copy of it and brought it back to Australia.

If you have read the post and comments, you would have found that we are interested in an Apples to Apples game in Na'vi. We would replace or just translate the already existing Green Cards and then create Red Cards which reference either the Movie "Avatar" or the language in some way. Would it be possible to order some of these? Could you make a one off special Na'vi verson which can be made available to the members of LearnNa'vi? What would the resources, labour and production cost?

Hmm, I'm a little confused about what exactly you're asking Mattel for. When you say

it looks like you're just asking for blank cards, but then when you say

it looks like you're asking them to do all the translating work and create the Na'vi cards which I'm sure would cost a pretty penny. Plus, is there even anyone at Mattel who speaks Na'vi at all?

Just wondering.

I had worded the email a little poorly.. Nonetheless, I still believe that it will serve its purpose.
