Everyday Na'vi

Started new poll, I want to see how often people look at you in a strange whay when you greet them in Na'vi or when you speak Na'vi in general.

Though not pagan or Wiccan, for most of my life I've held the belief that all living things are one with all other living things. Seeing the Na'vi and their culture has reinforced that. Then in a not-so-deep way, I use some simple Na'vi in conversation with my friends in hopes that something will take root. Unfortunately most of them don't get thrilled about language like I do.

And my dog seems more receptive to Na'vi than English. He was going crazy, barking at something, so I was telling him "mawey, ma tsmukan, mawey" and he stopped and walked away. Weird.

(hello, all Na'vi)

I have started this topic because I would like to hear how Na'vi has crept into your or people you know of live's like the thread "my life is Na'vi' but this one is more than just how you said Kaltxi to someone at the store and they said kaltxi back, there is more to being Na'vi than speaking the language I want to see how learning of the Na'vi and the Na'vi life style has changed your thoughts on our planet. I don't know about you but i would love to be a Na'vi and so have adopted some of the culture and infused it with mine by seeing truely seeing the beauty of this planet buy once our eye's have opened we see what we have done to it there is still time to keep our planet beautiful and live as one with it not use it and throw it out.

i think as only 2000 people have signed the pettion to make it a offical registered language that not many more people can be serious about learning it so unless you kno people who speak it the chances of you bumping into some one is slim

I am incorporating as much Na'vi as I can into modern life I don't follow the religion or worship of Eywa as I am Christian true Christians believe that we are to be good stewards of the earth and we are not (also I believe God created everything but as it is no where in the Bible that he may have made life elsewhere I belive he did but maybe the "Christian" rules and faith don't apply who knows God bless and Eywa ngahu).

some people said that the earth needs saving etc and the destruction undone, but i believe different, we can keep the planet alive AND keep our concrete and cities. Am i the only person who finds the city beautiful, even more so than much nature? This may be my view as i live in a very green city, and we do have many areas of forest etc, and lakes and ponds, but we also have all the beauty of modern life and our culture as a human race.

Am i the only person who finds the city beautiful, even more so than much nature? This may be my view as i live in a very green city, and we do have many areas of forest etc, and lakes and ponds, but we also have all the beauty of modern life and our culture as a human race.

at this point we can't get rid of cities or most technologies, I belive we must integrate in a way that promotes the planet to thrive make them mix like the harmony of a good song I too find cities beautiful (how ever i still like a good hike through the woods more) there are some amazing ideas for a good green city.

Hey guys I wanted to apologize for not posting here for a while I have been busy doing stuff on the Culture threads and semester finals. So as a quick about date about Everyday Na'vi I still keep looking at the world and seeing how we could change adn seeing what we do wrong, but my major focus right now is on the language, and in the world of US politics (off topic) I have been spending some time with my school debate team about how the government has decided to cut funding to NASA (so now how are we going to find unobtainium) any way I hope you all have been doing well and hopefully I will have some exciting news to regarding the Na;vi to write about soon.

I have a project with two of my friends in the school, we try to talk in na'vi always, and our class mates, see us like if we was a ketuwong's. LOL but is cool!

I introduced myself to one of my classes in Na'vi.  The look on the teachers face was priceless.  It sparked a 10 minute discussion on what the language was and if it was a real language.  It was awesome.

I turned my life issues class into a learn Na'vi class it started when I accidentally started speaking Na'vi at my table group they were interested and wanted to learn it and so I gave them the basics then it began to spread and one day our teacher walked by and heard us speaking niNa'vi (in Na'vi) and was like what are you saying and all of a sudden life issues turned into a 20 min discussion on Na'vi, avatar, and how to speak Na'vi. (lexicons are handy).

Hey Guys, wanted to know if anyone knew how to make a queue braid it is a hair style at present their is no actual name for the head tail like thing that the Na'vi use to make Tsaheylu (which literally means the bond).

Which is surprising, considering how important that is to the story. Why they called it a 'queue', I will never know. I called it a 'connector tassel' until 2 weeks ago when I learned the 'official term'. (I have a piece of 'elevator control cable' hanging on a machine a few feet away, and it has an interesting braided covering. Many times, I have thought this would make a nice queue.)

On the subject of this thread though: I have, for many years tried to practice 'practical conservation', using a little less here and there. It adds up in a hrry. And, if everyone did it, we would be in much better shape. I am also very fortunate to be able to work with some of this world's most powerful and beautiful animals. They constantly remind me that they-- and their ecosysems-- are worth saving.

And although I am a fundamentalist Christian, I believe very much in the conceptual framework that is called 'Gaia' or Eywa on Pandora, but do not practice it as religion. We are deeply connected to the life on this planet. We are to use and share it, just like the Na`vi.

You are a lucky person, as far as we know the Na'vi have no other religion it is hard to see any Na'vi even consider practicing something else as they have proof that their god is real, also to the Na'vi do not really have a religion as it is their very way of life and they can not deny it. And just a little input on the term "queue" it is not official (JC did not call it that) there is no Na'vi word (yet) that says what there "head tails' are a queue is nothing but a hair style, and Tsaheylu means the bond so those of us on the forum call it the queue as we do not yet have another word for it.
