As we know, Disney released na'vi translator that speaks Paul's voice.

I wondering how does it works and where are stored audio samples (inside device or at card).

Can You say more about cards and translator? I just wondering what technology they use. It should be some kind of RFID (contact-less plus cart-presence sensor, loop antenna in card and reader) but there are a lot more options available. Plus if they use RFID/NFC, where are audio data - all inside reader or separate records inside each card?

The cards use colored spots to tell the translator what word to speak. I am going to try and work out the color code, and then prepare cards made from black card stock with the appropriate colors painted on. The reader mechanism appears to be a primitive 3 pixel 'camera' that can sense color. This is a bit unusual for a children's toy.

I was very pleasantly surprised to hear K Pawl pronouncing the words, which means the pronunciations are absolutely canon. This adds a significant air of authenticity to the device, and should help make anyone who has one of these devices a better Na'vi speaker!
If each dot holding 3 bits of information (RGB or CMY), there are 9 bits available, 512 possible combinations or less if error detection are implemented.
IMHO there are some place for special cards that will be released later and few test cards, easter eggs or something similar from engineers that wrote firmware for it.

Now I'm waiting for database that include both sides of each card and extra findings (if exist).
Any errors in spelling, tact or fact are transmission errors.
