ISO Language Code for Na'vi

For reference for possible future use, info on the requirements and procedure for trying to get an ISO code for a constructed language:

I was actually looking at that the other day as well.  I think "nvi" would be a good code to suggest on the application.   ("nav" is already taken by Navajo.)

However if I understand the process they use, nothing submitted through the year will even be considered before the end of the year.

I think we should not get into this before Dr. Frommer give the GO. After all, it is his language.

We have two works of Shakespeare in the pipeline, doesn't get much more leLilterature than that.

Maybe as a group, we should put together a package - work out what translations etc. we can do to help justify a code. I think it would be great to get one... afterall, the Klingons have.

More to the point, since nothing will happen until nearly next year ANYWAY, might as well wait to see how this year plays out, and revisit the idea towards August/September timeframe.

As far as Frommer's go...  Well, it would probably be a good idea to work with Frommer on filling out the request anyway, but I think this needs to be done either way.  Na'vi is, for better or worse, a language at this point, and so it should get the treatment deserving of such a thing.

Looking at past change summaries, we might get a code any time between next January and next May, and it will be nvi if approved.
