Kaltxì Palulukan!

2022 update: Working on the new astrology book. "How to read tarot" books are on Amazon, if you are into that sort of thing.
Okay, so the old podcast is here: https://www.podomatic.com/podcasts/radioavatar It was goofy fun that ended too soon, but we had creative people. I hope we can get a new gang together (interested? PM me, let's make some magic!)
(Very old, outdated) Na'vi FUN activity book is here: But what are you doing? Let me know! :)

I'm guessing you were referring to my post Kaltxì Palulukan!. Eywal t<ay>ìng<ei>ti ulte aynga (fall + future + pejorative) äo ayoeng. Didn't think about tense or aspect as I didn't have na'vi word. Isn't kllte na'vi for down?
Anyone feel free to add me on msn or skype: [email protected]

Terkup skxawng!
-- it's sweet, it's simple, and it says it all. :D Also, unlike mine, it actually has to do with the sentence in the challenge. ;)

omängum fra'uti and Numeyu also came up with some very creative ones...
edit: ...and Robert Nantangä Tirea too! :D

While that "shiny rockperson" line is great :D keep in mind...

QuoteIdeally the line should be something that fits in with Na'vi life and culture

So the impression I'm getting is that it shouldn't necessarily be directed AT the Oscars specifically, but more a cultural based expression that could be used in that situation.

(Ngeyä) Tsaheylut Molun'i, Äie Säpi

or (if addressing more than one person)

(ayNgeyä) Saheylut Molun'i, Äie Säpi

I would rather it say "Consider your queue, Cut" but we really don't have a word for "to consider" to "think of". Also, technically "queue" may not be « tsaheylu » so that word may change to something shorter.

The other option is a bit simpler...

Fkol Ngeyä Tsaheylut Mìyun'i!

or (if addressing more than one person)

Fkol ayNgeyä Saheylut Mìyun'i!

I'm a bit afraid that in its fundamental concept this might be too violent/threatening for the somewhat playful nature of "You're going down." What do others think?

But, I like them both because they feature spellings that LOOK very Na'vi. ( « fk... » « ä » « ...n'i » ) I believe that the point is not only to come up with something clever in Na'vi, but to have it LOOK visually interesting to those who don't speak/read Na'vi so that they may then become interested in trying to learn the language.

If anyone knows about the "sameness" or "difference" between the Na'vi braided queue and it's relationship to « tsaheylu », rutxe, kar.

Another one:

Peng Fizayur san« Kaltxì »sìk.

It seemed to me in the film that even though the living Na'vi can hear the voices of the departed at the Tree of Voices and the like, they don't really have clear, fluent communication with them. One must pass to "be with Eywa" to be able to communicate "on the other side"?? So, the competitor will not survive the competition and will thus be with Eywa and the ancestors... which then opens the narrative "can of worms"... Do/must the Na'vi experience a pre-death "download" ritual before they pass nìkerusey?? And what happened to Eytukan's and Tsu'tey's spirits having been denied such a process??

PLEASE don't discuss this "can of worms" in this thread, though. Someone, please find the right place for it and make a new topic, if it doesn't exist already...  :-\  ...and deserves discussion at all...  :-\ nìmun.

Remember, Everybody. They need to be SHORT. The original (fake one) was only 17 characters long. This one is intended to replace/correct that, so it can't be so long. « Peng Fizayur, Kaltxì » is even longer than the original.

You might win in the end (by default), by being "short and sweet".

TAFRAL:

Ngato nì'Ul Tel Tskxe!

   or just simply...

nì'Ul Tel Tskxe!

This is, of course, a play on Tsu'tey's being dismissive of Jake when he's trying to learn to ride the direhorse for the first time. ("A rock Sees more.")

ayFya'oìlä, oe merllte, « ayikranur rä'ä tìkawnga si! ».

Well, remember it needs to be short, so I'm not sure if this would work.

I dunno. That statement really made my blood boil. For me, it was a taunt. :D (It was recently brought to my attention that it was a line from the T-movie, so I'm ready to forgive him now...  :D)

txepìl ngeyä kelutralit niyevekx ulte falulukanìl ngeyä ayolo'tut yiyevom.

That's my submission.

But that's a bit long.

Hmm.

Either clause would work on its own so:

falulukanìl ngeyä ayolo'tut yiyevom
