Gotta remove this, need to keep the voting time as unbiased as possible.

Why shouldn't we discuss what we like about the different choices?  Doesn't it make sense to have discussions when making decisions?

It might influence other people's decision and so swing the vote. I think that's what nume fpi sänume meant.

Yep. I read your reasons, and you disqualified some very nice entries for reasons that were valid for your own person, but could easily change someone's vote because of them. I'm doing my best to keep this as fair and unbiased as possible, so unfortunately this post had to be edited out.

Isn't that the entire point of discussion?  Shouldn't there be discussion among the interested parties when making a decision?

If you and your friends were trying to decide where to go for lunch, would you just put it to a blind vote, or would you talk about it first?  What if you knew that the place your friends probably wanted to go to had just closed, but they didn't know that yet?  Wouldn't the group decision benefit from sharing information and reasoning before making that decision?

yes but these people suggesting their artwork isn't a "friendly" thing of sorts, its also done individually, they all aren't doing the same piece of artwork,

The lunch theory is a group of people who are deciding to do the same thing at the same place

However the artists doing these logos are doing the same thing, for the same purpose BUT in a different way which is what makes it unique and it is also a competition...making a decision on where to eat lunch is not a competition

i would have to agree with Nume fpi sänume

Choosing a logo for the site isn't a competition either, or at least it shouldn't be.  It's a group decision by the site users, for the benefit of the site users, and I'd expect the site users to talk about it as a group before making a decision.

I don't see why it shouldn't be as friendly as anything else we do around here.

To sum it up, each person has their own opinion about what they want the logo to be, and I don't want that opinion influenced by outside forces. It is in essence a competition between the people who created their logo submissions. As the moderator of this section its my job to make sure that the selection and voting process is as fair and unbiased as possible. I did not give any of the artists the possibility to try and "talk up" their piece, or defend it in any way, and I will not let others do it for them through their own written out selection process.
