Na'vi translations of Human Names

well, since some words like doctor and English didn't exist on pandora, when humans arrive the Na'vi learned these words but didn't say them right, in this way doctor in Na'vi is toktor and English 'inglìsì.... so maybe they would have called you maìtt.

no one knows... well...there is a way: go to a Japanese, tell him the names, ask him to repeat them and write down what he says..... AND THERE THEY ARE!!!

On a basic level, you need to look at the Na'vi phonology (what vowel and consonants are available in the language) and pick ones which match the word as close as possible.

I'm wondering if Matx might be appropriate.

In real life, it gets a bit weirder than that though.

Keith - means 'forest' or 'wood'... So 'Na'rìng', meaning 'forest', works perfectly. It also has a nice ring to it too .

yeh yeh im trying to build up a phonetic dictionary atm with word like who what when where why it as yes no ect so i could have a basic convosation in the language if you get my meaning i got like 27 words atm then i might do names but need to get a good list of common names
