One of the things that has been an impediment in trying to learn Na`vi so far has been trying to find a systematic way of understanding the grammar rules, especially for nouns and verbs. It occurred to me that with the heavy use of prefixes, infixes and suffixes in this language that a quasi flow chart kind of grammatical key would be useful. To this end, I have created two of these, one for nouns and one for verbs. Each tries to show all the possible prefixes, infixes and suffixes that each of these word classes can take, in a way that makes it all immediately understandable. There are also useful notes included around the 'flow chart'.

This is a work in progress, so any suggestions, corrections, criticisms, etc is very much appreciated. I want to make a couple more of these, for pronouns, interrogatives, adjectives and adverbs, etc. as I have time. But here's for starters.

The following files are PDF's and I think everyone can read PDF's. However, PDF's are not editable.

Here are editable versions of these files. But you must have OpenOffice (free download, great productivity suite) or another graphics program that will read OpenDocument format to read them. There is no equivalent in the Microsoft world, although the very latest version of Office is (finally!) supposed to support OpenDocument stuff.

Many thanks to Skxwang and Taronyu, from whose materials I borrowed heavily.

After discovering a whole bunch of stuff about verb infixes I missed the first time around, I have made substantial modifications to the verb page. Please let me know what you think!
