Also, why would the server be moving?

Because it looks likely that I will be getting 100/100 FTTH connection at home. If that will be the case I will move the server here which will grant me full control an ability to guarantee at least 80/80 compared to the 10/10 I have guaranteed now.
Oooh. That's a nice connection. Speed improvement will be nice :)

As for moving, where has the thing been all this time? Data center?

A friend with a similar connection :P The thing now is that I share his connection with his usage (which includes torrenting). I also have a much more stable power grid here, seeing as I live in a town, not on the countryside so the power is stable no matter what weather it is :D

I am seriously planning now on adding a German section to the naviwotd-website. In the new software-structure I made, that is not very difficult. I can do the text-translations from English to German myself, so that's cool.
Once that is in place, we may consider adding another language.

It would mean, though, that the new English sentences are not yet translated when a new batch is made by omängum fra'uti, but I think I can make the software signal that and send me a mail about it. In the meantime the DE site would show the English version, which is better than nothing.

Anyone another suggestion?

B.t.w. I plan on putting my new release in production coming Saturday, so I am near the box in case something goes wrong. I tested it as much as I can and it looks good, but going live is the ultimate test.

Didn’t know where else to post this, slä ma omängum, shouldn’t the example sentence for ftxey be oe srung si frapor—ftxey ’eylan ftxey kxutu ? I keep hearing frapo.

Only this to say: this is still awesome ;D

I think I got it nailed.

http://nwyfre.homelinux.net/paulhome/src/navi_wotd/dev/index.php - this is a link to my dev environment.

What do you think? Is this worth pursuing? I'd need people to translate stuff for other languages, though. I know that at first the drive of new folks is tremendous, but at some point they many lose interest as there is no glamour.

I also intentionally left the German translation for the latest word out, so you can see what happens when the translation is missing. I can do either this, or show the English text.

Right. Had to do a manual tweet after the one that went out. Something buggered up. Yay for going live and failing... :(

I could translate it into German.

Did you do the current translation all by yourself?

Yes, I did. I am still trying to figure out a way to make access as easy as possible, so all translators can get to the info easily. Perhaps google-docs is the best option.
At this moment it is all text files.
I could set up the current German textfile on my webserver so you can download it and have a look. Let me know.

I wrote a very simple interface to enable online translation of the Na'vi WOTD information.

The first attempt is here: http://nwyfre.homelinux.net/paulhome/src/navi_wotd/dev/wupdater.php (note that this is a development version which does nothing on the live site).

So far only German and Dutch are 'supported' as there are translation files for that, but it is very easily expandable to any language.
Feel free to have a look and comment. (I know the pages are not pretty. ;) )

One thing about NWOTD #61: How do you “use” a person ?
#73: Zene nga kivä nekxamtseng.

EDIT: Could you make the first translation field longer? Like about 40-50?

EDIT2: Everything apart from the last one updated (last one: field too short)

Both of those are correct.  fìpo is a person or thing, and immediately after verbs of motion like kä, the destination may be used without the adposition ne.

Edit: FYI I'd apparently forgotten to actually publish my latest set of sample recordings, which is why today's was missing.  That has been rectified now so today's recording should be available.

Sample for word 94

EDIT: to justify this post, I wanted to ask, where (if not Eana ELtu) does navi_wotd get the data? I see

sran / srane -adv. yes

in my sigbar, and on teh tweet, though the dictionary says

sran: adv., intj. yes (colloquial)

srane: adv., intj. yes

I noticed that too.  A mistake, as it should be intj.

I copy them from the dictionary and then remove the phonetics part which looks like gibberish. I suspect that in this case I removed a bit too much. Or I typed it by hand or something. It is not an automated process, I pick the words by hand.
