Well I must start off by saying thank you to those who have put their input in on the concept before I went through with setting it up. As you can see by the title (and yes some of you are already copy and pasting that link into your browser) that I am developing a location for a more formal format of learning Na'vi. Before I get too far, let me explain why I decided to do this and what I hope to accomplish.

Many of us have started out the same way, browsing the internet for more information on the exotic Na'vi language and have come across this very site which is full of information, fans, educators, with mixes of all walks of life around the world. There are great tools at our disposal with the carved proof of hard work. To top it all off we even have well crafted worksheets, teamspeak server a irc room, and a jmemorize option to help people along the learning journey. However the challenge I found is a foundation or path on which to start learning. There was some general guidance which could be found in the forums and people always in the irc to answer questions. I personally am a learner that needs to be immersed and so I was looking for a way to suck it up, be embarrassed for a while and eventually after much pounding, could speak it well. With a little struggle I found this to be more of a challenge in our current situation and I don't think my learning style applies for everyone. So I looked to another direction, how could I setup a format for myself to learn step by step with guidance the na'vi language. Even moreso I could post questions, that to the community as a whole may be over repetitive, but within a group could be a good. I found myself listening to the audio of Na'vi every chance I got but retention was more or less not seeping in. I spent a day or two thinking on how I could best teach myself and create a learning central for me to convert, learn words through flash cards and make a one stop shop for immersion.

Turns out I looked back to my online school learning and thought, heck if I am going to teach myself, then why not create a methodology along the way. More importantly though I wasn't in a place to teach nor was I considered any form of Na'vi grammar wizard so I expanded the idea to be a place where those with strong na'vi experience could lend their knowledge to the community by developing content in a classroom format that can be reused over and over as new people come into the community. The site would never have a charge and it would be driven by the creativity and knowledge base of the na'vi community. This format inspired me to setup a location to make this happen and hopefully learn a lot more along the way by not only learning the content that has been provided here but to create a project for the community to dive myself further into its involvement and hopefully give those in front of me and those behind me a little something in return.

Wow, turns out I wrote a lot in my explanation but I hope everyone is as inspired about it as I inspired myself with it.

Great idea. I already put your link on my website (http://www.mpandora.weebly.com under featured links. Good luck with your website!
My uncle's dog came over a little less than one week ago. I stupidly left the computer plug on the floor. That night, his dog chewed it up. So, the next morning, I go looking for the plug and I find a chewed up piece of metal. I sadly cannot purchase a new plug right now, and my computer's battery is out. I'm at my public library.

Also, I discovered this promising "small business" film company called Mirror Entertainment. It looks really promising: http://www.mirrorente

Another great tool in the quest to learn a wonderful language. =]

2022 update: Working on the new astrology book. "How to read tarot" books are on Amazon, if you are into that sort of thing.
Okay, so the old podcast is here: https://www.podomatic.com/podcasts/radioavatar It was goofy fun that ended too soon, but we had creative people. I hope we can get a new gang together (interested? PM me, let's make some magic!)
(Very old, outdated) Na'vi FUN activity book is here: But what are you doing? Let me know! :)

Right now registration for logins is not turned on because I still am adding in some of the core organization. If those who wish to teach and are at a level to do so, put your name out and if your peers here recommend you as well, we can hook you up with your own class to help others :)

THAT LOOKS AWESOME DUDE!

WELL DONE!

I hope it has some awesome tests etc.

Class content is not filled in yet. It will be added in as soon as I can as well as teachers will be able to organize their content as well.

I could probably "teach" something here, or at least organize a course for people to work through.  I was thinking about doing something similar for the beginning level: namely, a set of handy words and phrases, à la a travel guide.

Also, a general comment/suggestion: You might want to organize your courses around "communicative functions" (i.e., meeting and greeting, asking for things, food, etc.) rather than just "grammar" and "vocabulary" which can be kind of dry.  This implies that there would be an overall arc/connections between the different courses, though, so maybe that's not the way to go for this.....

Eywayä Kato

I'm totally enrolled.  While my experience at work won't likely be able to transfer over to this real well (I work in special ed.) I'll be sure to let you know if any helpful teaching hints leap to mind.

Ftiafpi

I would happily teach a pronunciation class.

IMPORTANT: Nominate Teachers
================================

Ok, so now it is time to start nominating your teachers for the site. Keep in mind just because you nominate them, doesn't mean they have time to donate to this project or feel comfortable with the role. This is the best method I can think of to keep the project community driven and allow everyone the potential to be heard. I will work my best to keep track of this list over the next two weeks to see who you guys want.
