Luckily, as far as I can see, no entry starts with a quote. So, we can see this problem as "solved". One thing to do then is to add categories which should be transateable somehow. I think I might add some fields to edit_dict_meta.

I'd prefer the categories to be the word types (noun, verb, adjective, etc.) rather than some made-up categories that are ambiguous.

I'm not sure whether it is already included or was just planned, but isn't the part of speech already an own column?

The columns are: Frontside (the na'vi word), Flipside (the English word), Category (word type), Level (0)

For those people getting load errors with csv/tsv in JMemorise  I think I found the problem ... odd words in the list.

Check the list of words and see what is in there ... an easy(easier) way to find them is to put the list in somethign that can sort the information and then look top and bottom to find the flawed entries.

No guarantees (that I'm even right) but it worked for me :)

So yeah ...

I've been doing my own J-Memorise list, 1005 words (based wholly on Taronyu's excellent dictionary), couple of new categories but no noun indications like Mirri's list has.

I've attached it and am happy to maintain it so if anyone has any comments let me know (I'm sure my "categorisation" is a bit flaky at times). I will update anyway when the next list is up.

This is awesome... I was doing something simillar, but AFAIK I ended it ad 600 words... I added two letters from begining of the alphabet and... There were new update without marking new words and I had to start again... Not good at all.

Just to let you guys know, I have created a set of new .tsv flashcards based off the database. Categories are by part of speech. These files will be automatically updated along with the main LearnNavi dictionary. To know when they are updated, subscribe to this RSS feed:

http://tirea.skxawng.lu/updates.xml

Just download the one for your language, and import tabular separated values into jMemorize, with UTF-8 encoding :D

Looks pretty much like the ones EE already generates on its own using MwfPlgNaviJM.pm?
Eana Eltu: PDF/TSV/jMemorize

Tirea Aean

huh. I knew that it generated those, but I thought they no longer were linked to? or were out of date? if not, Ill stop wasting my time generating my own copies.

PS just to let you know, the main sql dump is two versions of data behind the PDF and is not updating anymore since PDF 12.37 any idea how that might be?

Tuiq

They are generated, or should be, at the same time the SQL is generated (and the tsv files, and whatever else I am supporting right now). If it isn't, there's something wrong.

Indeed, the last SQL update was on the 23.01.2012. It *should* be generated daily however. I'll take a look at it. Remind me in a few days in case I've forgotten it :X

Tirea Aean

where does it put those generated csv and tsv files?

but I'm "Forbidden" to see a list of that folder's contents when I nav my browser there. that's why I ask ;D Irayo.

EDIT: That file you linked me doesn't have hangvur, or 'ipu, recent words from 12.37 therefore it fell out of date a while before that. (it doesn't contain ngong either so it's even further than 30 October out of date)

Tuiq

Apparently, "srìn" broke EE completely down. EE assumes it to have two infixes (because of sr$\cdot$$\cdot$In), but can find only one syllable, which causes it to meltdown.

If anybody could help me debug this over IRC, somebody skilled with the language, that would be appreciated. I hang around in #na'vi.

Fixed it now. The error with the TSV was, that there had been two ways (JMemorize and plain TSV) for ages, but I linked to the wrong ones for JM. Oops.

The SQL should generate just fine now. Just don't put cdotcdot again in the code please. :(

Tirea Aean

Thanks for fixing! One more question.before I deprecate my tsv generator:

Do you create a jmem and tsv for each local language? or just eng?

Tuiq

As with everything, add _lc at the end of the filename.
Eana Eltu: PDF/TSV/jMemorize

Tirea Aean

ah ok so like

NaviDictionaryjm_de.tsv = auf Deutsch?

Tuiq

Nope, it's NaviDictionary.jm, therefore NaviDictionary_de.jm.
