I'm wondering if people have noticed any puns/references/etc. in the vocabulary of Na'vi.  I know that Okrand put quite a few in Klingon, but I haven't noticed so many in Na'vi.  The only one I can think of is the unquote particle "sìk," which looks suspiciously like [sic].

Anyone notice anything else?

Eight

Yom.

Now to me, that sounds very much like "nom" - the Internet's favourite onomatopoeia.

No idea where it originally came from - but it seems to be everywhere these days.

prrte' sounds like a cat purring. And of course, the na'vi are cats.

The verb kame "See (spiritually)" could be from Japanese kame for "spirit, divin(ity)."
