Setting up dedicated server for web conferencing and na'vi lessons

Hi, awesome idea!

Kelutral (the server LearnNavi and many other projects are running on) has tons of free space. Theoretically, we could host the bigbluebutton. The install doesn't seem too complex, as Ruby is already running.

If you just need a domain, I can set up a CNAME for something like bbb.learnnavi.org and point it wherever. Let me know!

It may probably be a good idea to use the kelutral's domain then for the server.

I can keep hand on the server for now, even if time will become an issue for me as well. I have to set up a wordpress and see how to configure this with bbb.

I'm searching at the same time for something a little bit better than just 'bbb'.learnnavi.org.

I may need a few days before I can actually install wordpress or change configuration stuff. Times are getting pretty busy.

Yes. Such a portal should have a name speaking for itself and yet being easy.

I have though about the word tsaheylu, even if the word is a little vague. Such a platform is creating a link between people, for communicating, sharing, discovering and learning. What do you think? It seems like there is one syllable that is too much, but...

Why not just call it "LearnNa'vi Interactive"? Good name if you want an official connection to LN.

Thank you. I think I'll take that name project, and just change the 'interactive' word for 'numeatan'.

Wordpress is running fine. But now, nginx and apache aren't playing friendly. I have to fix this issue. But as soon as I understand how nginx and BBB's extension work, it should be ready soon. I'll also have to install multi-language support for wordpress.

Okay, good news!

I've finally brought back all of the services back to life, and things are finally taking good shape.

What I am left to do now is to see with Payoang how he can set up the domain name to my server.

The website would have the following features :

Offering a controlled (password for visitors and moderators) access to several rooms for speaking with sound and webcam, and temporarily hosting documents, images and presentations.
Listing and explaining the various projects around the Na'vi language.
Give access to the resources useful for learning the language (can be language dependent).
Listing and explaining communication methods (Skype, irc with clear tutorials).
News about events and project advancements.
Full multi-language support (except Na'vi for instance, I may required your help for those who want to see pages in their language, can give more importance and I hope boost your local community).

But for now on, I have to go to sleep. *poof* Puurrrrrrrrrr......
