Kaltxì,

I have just begun putting together a DIY textbook that will eventually include everything that is available online and from the film, I may try and get in contact with Frommer himself for input but for the time being I will post each chapter rough draft so that you can all edit, critique, comment or even use it if it you feel it is at that point. This textbook is written for the average reader who wants to learn to speak Na'vi and will not include any more linguistic terms or analysis than necessary. If you have any requests on how you would like a textbook like this to be put together, what it is should include/ how it should be structured I would love to hear from you.

Do we have to buy the workbook to go with it?

It seems that it could be nice but it will be a huge project....

I don't plan on publishing so for the time being its free. In the event that the book is received well and widely I may consider publishing a much more refined version. Even if I did end up publishing I'm sure the book would be VERY cheap. I am not sure what the copyright legality on all of this is and everything but I've e-mailed Frommer and I'm sure that that will come up.

Absolutely!!!

Will the textbook be divided into lessons like teaching material for other languages? like, one chapter where you learn how to say hello, one about numbers,...

From what I've heard so far, Dr. Frommer hasn't joint us yet. :)

Well, if he has heard of us, he may swing by to see what we are doing. He may not register though...

In the interviews, he said that he'd love to support Na'vi learners and that he wants to see the language grow. What better way would there be than joining a forum like this? :)

We already thought about that but we have to keep in mind that he is certainly really busy those days, receiving e-mails and demands from all around the world. :)

Maybe if we wait he'll come on his own, I think this would be far better and glorious for our community. :)

That's my intention but I would really appreciate ANY suggestions on how you would like a Na'vi textbook to be structured. If you have learned languages before, what helped or what didn't? Thus far the first couple sections of the first chapter teach you how to pronounce all of the Na'vi sounds. Immediately after words/ simple phrases are introduced. That's just my initial instinct of the best place to get started but if you would prefer another way PLEASE let me know.
