im reallyyy new to this so maybe it's just my lack of experience with linguistics, but i dont understand a lot of the terms used here :( for example: glottal stop, ejective, and dipthong. Any help or links to good resources would be extremely helpful. Thanks :D

Hey, wellcome!

Don't worry about it, we are here to help. :)

glottal stop = ' This is like a short stop as in "uh-oh" - "uh'oh"
ejective = px, kx, tx
Here are some sound samples:
kx - http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/a/a0/Velar_ejective_plosive.ogg
tx - http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/d/d7/Alveolar_ejective_plosive.ogg
px - http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/6/64/Bilabial_ejective_plosive.ogg

dipthong =
aw = aou - "noun"
ay = eye - "eye"
ew = Eh-w - "heyo"
ey = aey - "say"

I was never really satisfied with that example.

How about the /eo(w)/ in "Beowulf" ?

Better. It also depends on your accent how you say this. I've heard people say Bey-yo-wulf here. In which case it's the same as the heyo example.

I'll say this. Every Na'vi word which ends in ew used to end in eu.

neu, sreu, fkeu. For example. They are now spelled as new, srew, fkew. Therefore I've always thought of ew as a combination of ehh and uu one into the other smoothly and quickly, as 1 unit. If that makes any sense.

I've found that ew is just one of those things that if you are learning through text only, needs so much explanation. But if you learn by audio or in person verbally, it takes seconds, just like every other sound. (probably except 'rr)
