Are vowels not supposed to  be nasalized before nasal consonants because I find it very difficult to not nasalize my vowels before nasal consonants?

Frommer's own pronunciation does not have nasalization before nasal consonants, with the possible exception of ng, but even there it's hard enough to tell that I'd be inclined to say nasalization should be avoid there, too.

On the other hand, Eytukan (Wes Studi) speaks Na'vi with a Cherokee accent, which results in some funky nasalized vowels.  Listen to how he pronounces hapxì when inducting Jake into the tribe (about 1:21 into the film).

So I should just practice not nasalizing my vowels before nasal consonants?
