Na'vi fun-to-say practice sentences
« on: September 01, 2010, 06:01:01 pm »
Note: while I have done my best to make the sentences make sense (and maybe even so in fun ways), I developed these tongue-twisting sentences primarily for phonetic practice.  However, feel free to use them where you please :)

'LL: Plltxe: hllteyä kllte sì txll'u hu ewll kxll soli.

'RR: Mrra frrtu sì lrrtok amrr sì mrra ngrr sì vrrtep amrr, wrrpa fawnrrfena 'Rrta, prrkxentrrkrr si srrìri nìhrrap.  Fol fa(s)yrrfen 'Rrtati krro krro.

NB: Our forum Skxawng has spoken this one too.

'LL and 'RR together: Teri prrplla prrwll wrrpa plltxe!

Minimal, using mostly T, U, L, and E: Tute lu tete ulte tute lu teng.  Tute lu tute te tupe?

Pxaya vowels: Ayu soaiä ayoehu räpìyey nìmeoauniaea.

Pxaya vowels nì'ul: 'Eoioa meoauniaeaoio oe 'ieia.

Txan teri C (TS): Oe sìlpoley tsnì tstewa tsmukan luke tstxo tsraymì namatsew tspivang, slä tstal tskosì swizaw ke tsamun tslivam.

Txan teri G (NG): Ngima ngawng mì ngengeyä ngima ngäng lu ngul.  Nìngay ngal nantangit ngolängop nang!

Pxaya pxorpam: Nìkeftxo pxia atxkxe atxur pxolor.  Lalmu atxkxeyä pxunur spxina stxeli sì pxaya ayìpxa sì kxa a poltxe nìtxan sì letxepa sxkxawng.  Set ultxa si kxitx kxututa.

The Break Consonant (Glottal Stop): 'Ivong 'oma Na'vi nì'i'a, taluna olo' alu Rina' a'o' na'rìngmì lu 'e'al nìngay ulte prrte' oeri re'o livu.

... in an 'i'a pattern: Nì'i'a hì'ia tì'i'a a'a'aw 'i'a.

K-vowel: Vulka ke kä ko, ki kä ka ram ko!

[Coming soon]

Ay, ay, AY!: Ayikranay nìngay tswayayon ayfayfyavay ahay hayalo.  Lu yayayr srak?  hayalovay :)

'AW! That hurt...not ;): Kawkrr law nawnìna oe syaw 'awlo pxaw aungia awngeyä.  Sawtuteyä tsawla ayausiyu atspawnang nìhawng tamìng aungia ulte oe 'olefu rawke.

Ä, with some E and I thrown in: Oe ätxäle säpi äieio sì swirä asyä'ä, ulte kivä nìngäzìk, ulte rä'ä miväkxu oe.

O (make it pure, rutxe, as in the audio below!), and poetic, too: Kop, rewon lefpom oeru.  Tseo olo'ä nì'awlo lu 'o'.  Nìkeftxo, laroa mefo melo mamakto mìso.  Ha, kivä ko! 'EKO! 'EKO! 'EKO!

U (make it pure, rutxe!), and poetic, too: Lu oeru 'upxare mì uk, ulte ultxa lu tsatseng teri toruk.  Ziva'u, ma tsmuk, ulte lu txur, taluna kawnga ayunil lu tsatsengur!

EY sì EW: Pey, fu Txewì nìyew ftxivey kxeyeyt atstew.

[Coming soon]

One FWom FWommer: Fwäkì ke fwefwi.

[Coming soon]

Another canon tongue-twister (no N is pronounced as an M here): Pori pxunpxaw lu pxawpxun.

[Coming soon]

Any others out there?

EDIT: Grammar keyey, added audio examples...

Constructing such things is a bit of a hobbytsyìp of mine, in any language (including Klingon). Here're some I have for Na'vi:

'Eoioa meoauniaeaeo oe 'ieia

Ikranay nìngay tswayayon ayfayfyavay ahay hayalo

Nì'i'a hì'ia tì'i'a a'a'aw 'i'a

Tse sre sìsrese'a tsre'i sre'it uo 'uo a äo 'ä'o

Payoang isn't on this thread?...:D

Anyway, ma Sxkxawng, I'm loving these, especially the trilling practice one. I said that about 100+ times one night before bed. My mom came in and gave me the most surreal look. xD
