I am now planning and looking to build the new project's website, hosted on my dedicated server and that should have it's own domain name as soon as I have finished it.

I promised I would take care of this in March : well, I wished I could start sooner, but here I am.

I also questioned several sources and a friend in particular who went and lived in territories where there is basically almost nothing, and sometimes poverty. With the information I have, it is basically unrealistic to try to buy a single piece of land for our project for instance, not only because prices are usually astonishingly expensive but also because we need most people to have some experience in living outside and with much less resources.

As I am building the website, I am willing to leave space for anyone of us who want to share experiences, attempts and tips to progress in this project. We all need to do individual work on our side first (depending on the conditions, doing what is possible without sacrificing studies for example) even before planning a trip somewhere.

Basically, the first step is for any person interested in this project and willing to participate is to see if you can live one week in your own garden and cook your own food with basic tools, even with gas at first. The first step is not survival, it is getting used to living outside and learning basic tips for living outside.

As the new website, powered by Wordpress (simple and powerful, does not take long to do) will regroup many information that have already been placed in these forums, I can create user accounts for people to have a blog where they could post their experiences in living outside, for if this is not possible, on ways of improving a living by being more eco-friendly and efficient for example.

This is what I am up to now. I will work as quickly as possible, as I have some time this week and the next one... until the one after that will require hard work. Hope this makes you hopeful we can make progress. I am aware that several people here had somehow personal projects linked to Real-Na'vi life Tribe.  ;)

The forum will stay the same : this one. It isn't the right moment to change now. For now on, I suggest starting to have a first taste of living outside progressively with less resources on our sides to progress.

Wordpress you say, yes, the best choice in Blogging software. You can even make a website on it without a blog. I know how to modify that stuff.

My current plan is to graduate from Neumont Uni. in South Jordan (Salt Lake City), Utah, US, and then "migrate" west to most likely LA or Seattle. Granted how this will be, I might be in for a 1-2 week MIA type deal where I secure my items and just go missing for that while. Might not be the best idea, but I simply love it. So, I should have that step down, but it'll be executed in late 2015.

Yay, activity. :D

I look forward to seeing the new website.

About the rest you said - it made me think of this thread: http://bluemoontribe.org/forums/showthread.php?135-Adjusting-To-Tribe-Life

This is, I if I understood well, another group like Real Na'vi life tribe, and follows similar aims.

I will try to do a website as good as theirs.

Who actually does have an account on BlueMoon? I will create mine later, just to have a look.  :)

Tsyal Maktoyu

I do. I'm a bit more active there, lurking a bit more here.

Who is this group?
In true Norm-fashion - "WHO'S this group?" :P

It's Blue Moon Tribe, aka. the Revolutionists (former, unofficial name), of which I have been a member since early fall 2010.
They were created out of the same idea (and were originally a group on Avatar Forums), but have not had the bad luck with inactivity and members leaving as Project Tribal.

We (Blue Moon and Project Tribal) have largely the same goals, so talk about cooperating has been done in the past, but nothing has really happened.

That link I posted is however to the new website, which was created just last summer.
This is the old forum, now locked, but a treasure chamber of information: http://forest-living.org/index.php

Tsmuktengan

I guess they are more advanced than us.

I will offer some sort of roadmap along with the website to help each one to practice progressively outside depending on what task they would like (such as chasing, cooking, etc).

I however wish Project Tribal be totally neutral politically. I have had a certain fear this was not the case for the previously called 'The revolutionists' group. This name, for the least, could be evocative of a certain tendency. I do not know the present BlueMoon, but I anticipate as I start building the website.  :)

News!

The website is online. As soon as I can recover the link, I will place it here. I do not have it on my tablet right now.

The thing is that I had and still have much more work than expected. So it goes very slowly. But I promise to focus on it more soon.

If you're up want to help me, you can make a list of the the pages you think can be useful on the website. I want to create several pages for each important part of the project (training, and locations, tools, some guidelines, in etc) according to posts we haven't this forum.

I am really sorry I lacked giving news about this.. I will really try to speed up.

As I promised, here is the supposed new website, that does not have much yet. I wish it could help us set things up and organize.

http://na.learnnavi.org/real-navi/

Please make suggestions, or help me to create pages where I could incorporate information more quickly. This project helps me resting from work and thinking about something else than technology, despite the fact I have a lot of work every day, even on week-ends. Your help will also show this project can also be active.

A lot of work and research has been done in the forums. I would like to place all this in a single website where everything would be coherent and centralized. Are you here people?

Classic pixel theme, I know so much about customization for this.

You might want to ask to open the "header.php" and switch out the category and page PHP tags. I just don't get why the actual pages navigation have to be so far up in the corner.

I can eventually create an account for you on this site, if you want. With more than one admins, it can be updated and handled more often.  :)

I haven't really looked at all at BlueMoon or what they're about, but if we have similar goals, what with members here dropping like flies and almost all progress grinding to a halt, might it be worth merging in some way?

Not yet, first goal would be to start taking meetings to set more aims to the project. There, people would probably care to look again more often. A merge with Blue Moon will only be a benefit if there is still activity here.

I don't really care about the head count currently, I care about sorting my work and then structure things up here.

Can I take up this offer still? I'm becoming really re-interested in the tribe and want to get another good run going

You should already have received by e-mail your login and password : I already created an account for you since you seemed positive to this. I was about to ask you in fact.  ;D

Well, if timing seems to always line up as needed without definite consent, then we're headed in the right direction  ;D

Well, I checked my email and I haven't appeared to have gotten it... which email was it sent to?

Tsmuktengan

Uh, well....I... I just remembered that I did not install Postfix (the service used to send mails) on my server.

...so when Wordpress told me he sent you a mail, it didn't actually say he TRIED to send you one, apparently unsuccessfully.

I am sending your IDs via email myself. All my apologies. #tired #trolled_by_wordpress  ;D

Yes, I'm in, thank you. Now if you can upgrade me I'll make the site UI more friendly and it look more like a tribe site  ;)
