Yes, I'm committed.  Sorry it took so long to reply ^^ I've been busy getting my medical training.
100% absolutively.  I even got my new guy into the idea.  Teaching him Na'vi.
I might have to work a few times during the week, a couple 24 hour shifts at the local FD, when we get the perm tribe set up.  But most of that money will go to the tribe [besides what I will use car insurance and stuff like that...]
But yes, I'm totally into this. Please add me ^^

Please PM me if you are still interested in the real Na'vi tribe.

I am committed, although there are other items on my agenda so I won't be there all the time. Mostly the time spent away will be working with enviromentalism organizations and the like to try and help with many of the worlds problems, good enough excuse/reason to not be there :P. I will be there for the kick-off/start...if I'm able to convinse my parents im not insane.

Approached this subject whith my parents (well my mum) last night and it went well. Maybe rather than saying here is what I'm going to do which could freak them out, you should approach it in a roundabout way. Start things you don't like about living in modern society and move (gradually) towards their ideas. Maybe talk about how people used to live and about it being more satisfying and see what they say. They might not understand that you want to do this not because you're in the grip of a movie obsession but because you've thought about it rationally and have decided that this way of living is what you really want to do.

I think an easier thing to go about doing is to say, "Hey, mum and dad, there's a summer camp probably happening this summer or next, to learn how to survive and hunt and cool stuff like that... you know I've always [or even recently] been into this, and I think its really interesting and fun.  I'm thinking about trying it out.  What do you think?"

Now, for my parents [before I had a daughter] this would have worked like a charm [preferably after I just did a s***-load of chores...lol].
Because, as you know, this won't be permanent right away, for most of us at least.  If they think its just a summer camp and not related to Avatar the movie, then you'll probably have an easier time of it.
But, they'll probably want some info about where, how long, how much, and all that.  So you might want to wait til we have some of the figured out.  Just start talking about stuff [like in the above post], going green, going to farmer's markets in the summer and fall, starting a garden, that sort of thing.  Then it won't seem like such an out of the blue kind of speel. Saavy?
:]

That's more or less what I meant, definitely approach the subject gradually over a long period of time as we've definately got plenty of it. But yeah, definitely don't associate it with the movie or mention that everyone will be speaking na'vi, helps if you're parents think the people involved are sane  ;D

Spent most of today thinking about this, and came to the conclusion (well this part took all of about 5 minutes :P rest of time was other Tribe-related things) of "Colour me committed!"

I'm in, for better or for worse.

May not be able to be around permanently to start with, but that again depends a bit on where we end up, I WILL be there for the kick-off!

What do we say? It starts with a 'p...' XD Sorry, but I had to do it. I do it in real life, too. To my parents, even XD I catch myself sometimes afterwards and laugh, cause of all the things I'm learning from helping raise my sisters.

Oeru txoa livu, ma tsmukan. :'( I didn't mean to miss anyone i just have been waiting for them to post in here. When someone asks to be put in i look at their posts to determine if they have been here long enough and participated in conversation long enough (and been helpful) for me to know without doubt that they truly desire to do this. Needless to say you have been added. :D

I'm confused, is this the sort of thing where it's a summer deal, or it's ALL the time. I have to get an education first, and I need think about this one. So many things going on in my life right now, sad thing is if I was alone I'd definitly do it. I just need this one question answered.  When, where, and how are we going to support ourselfs? Jobs? Education? Communtiy? Law enforecment? I am committed, but I need some time to settle in, it's going to be a culture shock.   Eywa Ayngahu!

This is all stuff we're still working on. The only thing we know for sure is that is will be both perm AND a summer camp.
