DONATIONS!!

I've opened this topic now just so we could have an actual place to discuss this (and not use the tribe location topic). I really have no idea how to set up something like this and wouldn't really trust myself to do it correctly. (It's not that I'd use the donations in a bad way, it's just that I know nothing about money).

So let's start discussing this here and if somebody sets this thing up, I'll edit this post and do whatever else is necessary.

Also, consider donating a small part of your weekly paycheck. It can add up fast!!

Either myself or the Olo'Eyktan would be setting up the actual donation thing, if I am not mistaken. The only real thing we need to discuss is how much everyone would think of giving. So how 'bout it folks? I personally would be giving every penny I could spare, but that's just me ^_^

So will I (ATM I have nothing to spare ). There is also a pretty decent chance I can get a sizable donation from my parents and more from my grand parents (provided they don't disown me when I finally tell them!). I should be able to supply a decent amount of funds all said and done. Just not right off the bat.

Plus, we need some more hard #'s and facts before most of us will be willing to open our wallets.

An excellent point. When I get time between classes and Moderating and everything else, I will make sure to do the research ^_^ I am not being snarky, btw, I actually mean that. I just want you to know that it may be a while before I can actually figure out what it is we need ^_^;;;;

like i said 20 bucks every paycheck and when i don't follow through you can smite me. but as for who the donation should go to? I think Seabass is very trust-able and he is in so high a position that, even if the temptation to cut it and run arose, it would probably just be in his best interest to not do it. Besides we trusted him enough to build us this wonderful community. He'll probably have some personal reservations about this ida though so i dont know.

i wouldn't mind an ad border at the top or side of the page how much do you think we could make through ads?

I don't know how much we would make, but for simplicity's sake, I think that the donations should be handled by one of the actual members of the Tribe. Since the Olo'Eyktan would be the one buying the land, I think that he should be the one to run it. Then again, if we do what Tìloran said and apply for a No-Profit Organization status, then the applicant (Me, cause they won't turn down a Religious group XD) should run it. But that is just my thoughts on it. I'd personally rather that the Eyktan run ti, cause I got enough going at me already ^_^;;

hell maybe if we're lucky Cameron will fund us. He could write it off if we showed that we are doing this as a charity to the earth kind of thing. Maybe Frommer will help us so we can make his language an actual living heavily used language.
