pack animals probably would avoid us if we had a big enough (over 10) group. Bears are big and scary but they die just the same as anything else (assuming they aren't full-grown grizzlys or polar bears) and they tend to avoid people so there most likely to be a problem if we hike somewhere to look for supplies and run into one with cubs in which case we probably wouldn't be carrying a gun with us anyways.

Plus arrows are torturous when you're hit with them. I think just get it in the leg with 1 and it'll back off.

As for bringing guns if the community votes against it, that (in my opinion) is a no. If you can convince people that it would be a good idea to bring one then bring it. I am against guns but am more than happy to hear your views on it however i feel (strongly) that if you go against the community's wishes you will create tension. There is no point of a poll if you don't respect the results. Everyone will be making sacrifices, that is inevetable, guns may be one of them

First of all, I don't know where the three k came from. I don't have one but I was planning on getting one. Second of all, I never said you were wrong. It looked like you guys already won, so I asked if I could bring one anyways as a just in case as long as it was hidden away. I never said guns rock and your idiots, or anything like that. Thirdly, seniority may not matter but it does get the point across that, I have been just as commited as you have by being here and voicing opinions and concerns. Lastly, if we are trying to emulate the Na'vi, we shouldn't have people giving ultimnatums like no guns or your gone. They at least gave Jake a chance to be good. I would rather you stay Swizaw, but I don't take kindly to people who say that I must be a troll if I like guns. And yes I am a republican so that was doubly insulting. Now you know where my post came from. I wasn't blindly attacking, I had thought it over and was trying to point out where you were a little rude was all.

I just had a realization- without guns, war would be less drastic, and the world might eliminate borders and politics to make it where you're free to live and don't have to pay for resourses needed to live.

I just had a realization- without guns, war would be less drastic, and the world might eliminate borders and politics to make it where you're free to live and don't have to pay for resourses needed to live.

You sure about that? Been to a real war? Seen how freaking ugly it is add to this swords and machete are still in use, ever seen a beheaded body and not on tv or movies? Medevil weapons are very much still in use in this world of modern combat If you want war to stop first blameing the weapon is about as smart as saying the moon is at fault in this matter. Start with person till the heart and mind change for peace nothing changes. History bears out we are very very good at making war and new ways of killing each other.  And history has shown us that peace is possible.

I actually don't think you are correct. Before guns, everyone would line up and rush at each other. This caused waaaay more deaths than a modern fight.

You say, what about the world wars? That's because we kept sending people over there in waves. With an old army, you had the guys you had, and it would take months or years to get more troops out to where you were. So if you ran out of troops, you lost. Not sent more over there.

But still, I actually think that because that guns kill more efficiently, wars are shorter, and can be less drastic.

That's not to say that I like guns. I think that guns have made it too easy to kill people, so that anyone can go and kill a lot of people.

Okay, now that my views on the world are destroyed, it's too late to recall weapons because someone will rid of theirs and someone might come to kill them. Wow, I'm glad I'm the leader of anything.

Maybe SC had a point. [I think they called me a paranoid schizoid over 50 posts]. But as I say, let the world turn on itself. I guess if we die, we can blame it on ourselves. So, as we can tell, guns are out of the tribe, period?

I don't know about that yet. We've only been discussing this for half a day. It might be a good idea to start a new poll with only the options "None at all" and "Only for protection" or something like that.
