How Avatar has changed my life.

Weeellll, for all my life, i often take rolemodels for things, to get inspiration from, ideals, things like that. So before Avatar came out, i got alot of inspiration from a movie called "Princess Mononoke"(for those of you who haven't seen it, it's a anime movie focusing alot of nature) And when i was younger, i used to live in a town that was surrounded by mountains, with very thick forests, and i used to always venture into them, never feeling afraid of any bears, cougars or anything like that. Then when i got older, i ended up moving out to where iam now, which doesn't have much for forested areas. So as i lived out here, i started to get less and less exercise, and started to gradually lose interest in nature and whatnot. So then avatar came out, and i watched it in theaters quite a few times, after the first time, i was deeply inspired by the Na'vi, so then i decided to set a course to get exercise everyday. At first it was rough going, especially because there was still like a foot of snow on the ground. But then after about 2-3 weeks, the first bit of obstacle course i set, which goes uphill, and through some brush, and had 1 tree climb, got too easy, so i had to amp it up. So then now it has runs, jumps, climbs, all kinds of things. And doing this run really kills your shoes, so, i decided, screw it, and i started to run in bare feet. Feels pretty awesome actually, until you cut your foot, haha. Still worth it in the end though. So now i make sure that i do that run everyday, no matter what, even if the days events make it so that i have to run at night, i still go for it. I've been doing this run since the 2nd of January, and i haven't missed a day yet! Now i'm in the best shape of my life, and i really enjoy it, and it's thanks to Avatar and the Na'vi for the inspiration!

That's a great story

it's wonderful feeling to get inspired like this!!! I'm so glad that I live in a town which is surrounded by pure nature!

yeah, must be nice, where i reside now, it's more desert than anything, but there's a bit of forest which i go blazing through, to find new areas, i try for this every thursday, i'll upload a pic i have of a waterfall i found. Thank you for reading all that by the way

thats really awsome man!!!! i wish i had some friends around here that were interested in this kind of stuff.... but most if the didnt like Avatar as much as i did if at all

...o well their loss :-D im still in love with the Na'vi and Pandora and wish 2 fall in love with our mother earth

Yeah, my friends don't like going out THAT much unfortunately. But sometimes. I wish to fall in love with my own Neytiri essentially haha. I already love nature enough.

Wow, that is amazing. Running is good, I know. Barefoot? Oy, never tried that. The ground here is not that great for it. Too much asphalt, gravel-like stone and other mess on the ground.

That waterfall picture is amazing. Irayo for sharing that!

It wasnt that high...it took me about 20mins from our house!! I love to go up there to take a look on my hometown

This is a shot I made near my home (15 minutes by bicycle) last year in April:

I am glad to live in a nice natural environment too, and since I saw Avatar, that appreciation has only gotten stronger.
