OK so I am just asking how Na'vi do you want our tribe to be. I love the Na'vi but personaly that is not why I want to do this I am not sure whether I want to speak Na'vi and would rather we be more like the Hadza or make our own culture as it goes along. Don't think I don't love Avatar I just don't want this to turn into a Avatar freaky fan club.

I don't think anybody here is likely to want to paint themselves blue, and although I know many people would like to speak Na'vi in the tribe, I personally think it's unrealistic seeing as there are many more important things to learn (survival wise)

The culture will probably start to develop after we get settled.

our culture can be influenced by other but eventually it will develop into our own

and i think we should stick with Na'Vi as our language, making our own would complicate things even further

well ya but why we will be focused so much on survival I think english is more practical

I think that we have to be as practical as possible when sorting this out. We may certainly  need to imitate other tribes (like the Hadza) in order to actually survive.

But consider - say we got this up and running. After 3 months of living in a hut, there may be some who feel disillusioned. We may have either a lot of leavers or a lot of unhappy people. But you see, this is where the Na'Vi comes in. By including aspects of their culture, and perhaps even their language in some cases, we can remind people why they signed up for this and why they first came here. The Na'Vi would be a link to the time of inspiration that filled us all at the start of the year 2010!

aargh, yet another inspirational moment. I should write a darn book.

personaly its not why I want to go so I would not be inspired if people start making random Avatar referenced 24/7 that would just be annoing (not that I do not love Avatar)

I don't think we need to be worrying about culture at least until we get our location sorted out

Exactly. It is for this reason that I, reluctantly, am locking this thread until further notice ^_^;;; Forgive me
