Eh, no, actually. North America can be killer in the winter, and even where that was shot, it gets really cold in the winter. We'd be aiming more toward the equator.

Though that type of forest is kind of what we were thinking of, yes.

your right with the forest type, but off with location.

although i was thinking that maybe having some sort of plain, instead of just pure forest, might be a good idea, or everyone opposed to this.

I agree with Ikranä. Part forest, part plains provide more geographical diversity. Build settlements in plains, hunt in forest etc.

Wow ok I have been off quite a bit then. Thanks for clearing that up for me :D I also agree, an area that borders with a plain/is flat and the trees aren't too dense would be a perfect location.

Sure, it can be killer in winter, but you need to remember that 500 something years ago, there was a thriving Native American population here. In New England!
So I'd say don't discount the U.S. yet. There's still an arguement that can be made for it.

What about immigration issues? You know how difficult it is to get a green card.

There's actually talk about using BLM land for our place

Wasn't it about land management only? I don't quite remember anything about immigration......maybe I missed something.

And it's looking pretty positive (using the BLM.) But we'll have to look into it more and do more research.
