Maybe someone has already posted about this?  But I came across this picture of a tree-dwelling tribe and thought you guys might find it interesting.  It's the Korowai tribe.

Wonder if they eat in the house because taking groceries up there has to be a challenge.  The rickety ladders supposedly protect against arson...that is, setting the houses on fire and smoking out the inhabitants for capture.  But what if someone set the ladders on fire?  That's a heckuva drop...

I have already heard about this unique way of construction.

Well, it looks honestly too high, fragile and difficult to build. I won't think of this in the first place.  ;D

This is very nice in fact. This looks much closer and reachable for what we may want, depending on each of us.  :)

Imagine a severe wind storm? Talk about rocking to sleep.

those capsules look nice, and if people dont like them and would prefer more natural homes, then hammocks and/or bark shelters could be used as an alternative :)

Yes, and I understand the hammock is a MUCH better sleeping device than your normal bed.

:) well, beds are nice, but I bought a netting hammock recently and managed to rig it up in my garden a few times. It's really comfortable because it adjusts around your body :D and you are less likely to fall off, too  :D

...I am not completely on with the last statement, but whatever.  ;D

What she is saying is one needs to be very careful when climbing in or getting out of a hammock or the device will reject you to the ground.

I know cause it has happened to me. :P

Depends on what kind of hammock. ;)
The Mayan one I have is impossible to fall out of. The modern European version however, is a bloody death trap. :o

Yes. I prefer the Mayan one. It hugs you, and in the case of the image above, your loved ones together :)

The European one is just a plank on centralized ropes just waiting to topple its occupant to the ground. Hours of entertainment if you are in the lawn chair across the yard watching.

I'm tempted to start hand-weaving one. Might use the mental strain to figure out what I need to make it with also.

yeah, and I have one like this, similar problem, but once you have the knack I find it more comfy than the other 2 :)
