We also dream of starting a global na'vi tribe. And changing our society's values. Defend nature. No-money economy. Unity, love and respect for all people.New spiritual way of living in harmony with the environment.
We discovered your project and we would like to discuss and maybe unite forces.
You can find us on avatar-forums.com, section Pandora, topic reborn as na'vi.

Your topic is very light compare to us. We've done a lot of stuff.
I think it's better to you to join us here and look what we've already achieved ! ;)

Then everything changed ... I fell in love. I fell in love with the - with the forest, with the Omaticaya people... with you...
Don't thank! You don't thank for this! This is sad... VERY sad only!

Yeah, I looked into the Na´vi tribe idea on those forums, I (no offence) think that we put a fair bit more work into getting this going, I dunno whether or not that has change since I logged on but we have got quite a lot going. Without trying to sound elitist I don't know if merging would be a good idea for us this far into our projext. Maybe if something goes wrong with your plans you could join our tribe. Dunno what other people think though.

We could form a partnership, operate in separate fashion but still keep in constant contact, update each other and provide essential information. And we can set up a place for both sides to discuss amongst each other. Our paces are different so merging might cause problems.

This way we have two chances of succeeding instead of one. We wouldn't want to form one big group and all go down as one big failure.

Its still joining forces but in a different way.

Yeah, that's quite a good idea actually, I second that.

Me too. That definitely seems like a good idea.

We are always looking for new members though, so if for some reason your idea doesn't take off, don't be strangers!!

Just to clarify this - the idea was not to join forces in a way that would lead to only one group. The idea was to make contact between the two groups in order to help each other with knowledge and ideas and with possible obstacles along the path. Also the idea is - at least in our group in the other forums - to not just escape but to also inspire others in this world and for that reason, people with different ideas should join forces in a way of communicating. I personally believe, there are many groups out there aspiring similar goals either in Na'Vi context or not and there may be ways to work together - each clan/tribe for itself, but united in a more global context. It is actually a very good thing to have several groups with different ideas as no one solution fits all and not all plans will be realized.

I have to admit, your forum is impressive. I doubt I have the time to read all of it but from what I see, you have already discussed the major topics extensively to a point our little group cannot hold up to, still I hope, you do not deny us a two-way communication. After all, we all have to stick together, don't we?

Greetings
Aurora
I will just give some advice here and not participate in polls as I am involved with development of a sister clan of this one here which was founded independently. I believe however, we are one clan and we should stick together!

'Itan Atxur

It sounds perfectly reasonable to me. Perhaps we could even open a sub forum for that very purpose.

That's perfectly fine. The opinion is mutual. :)

This is amazing ^^
Great minds think alike, right? ^^

Feel free to use this new lil board I created to share any research: here... there's a lot of learnnavi.org plugs... but, then, this is where we got our start ^^ This place is just a way to organise a lot of thoughts!!
And this includes other clans as well ^^

Just a suggestion ^^
Though I do agree with the subforum idea!
Let's definitely keep this line of communication open :]

Please PM me if you are still interested in the real Na'vi tribe.

I also second the idea of a subforum.  :)

I think that your idea is sound, ma tsmukan. However, I am of the belief that this Tribe is going to go far, and I think I speak for everyone when I say that I hope that you all end up joining our Tribe. With that said, I like the idea that you are supporting- I think aspiring to inspire people around the globe is a very worthy cause, and I support it as wholeheartedly as I can... without actually joining ^_^; Again, I encourage you to join our Tribe, but I wish you the best of luck, tsmukan ^_^

Aren't we all technically one tribe already? Only different clans living in different areas, just like the Na'vi. :)

I think clan is just a family there can be many familys in a tribe

here are the defs
tribe:
A unit of sociopolitical organization consisting of a number of families, clans, or other groups who share a common ancestry and culture and among whom leadership is typically neither formalized nor permanent.
clan:
1. A traditional social unit in the Scottish Highlands, consisting of a number of families claiming a common ancestor and following the same hereditary chieftain.
2. A division of a tribe tracing descent from a common ancestor.
3. A large group of relatives, friends, or associates

Yes, my definition of clan in the above post is number 3 in your list. As I understand it from the movie, that's how the Na'vi define clan as well, but I could've gotten it wrong.

Anyway, I can only speak for myself, but my own personal reason for not joining is that the location decision threads all point southwards, to a hot and humid region of some kind. And that is one place where I will never move, except perhaps for a shorter vacation. I can't cope with heat at all, as soon as temperatures get close to +30C I start fainting from heat stroke. I'm born and bred for the frozen north, for good and bad, I doubt I'd stay healthy and happy if I moved too far from my heartland.

Oh...that sounds quite serious, not being able to withstand 30C+. Well, its sad cause you know so much!

I must admit, I do have a bit of the same problem my northern tsmuké has, 12 years up here has a tendency to work that way :-\ Not quite so bad for me though, haven't suffered to badly from heatstroke, but have discomfort (do overcome it eventually though)

I was born in NY and live in AZ so I can handle heat, though I hate the cold, personally :P

To live in the past is to die in the present.
