as for my part i would put the "Members" topic at top because of its content.
and the content makes the name itself sound a bit missleading...
perhaps keep the "Official Tribe Matters", or a variation of Tonbogiri's suggestion "(Tribe) Decisions: READ FIRST".
but i don't have any good ideas for a name yet...

Why not: "Real Life Tribe (Main Page)"
Straightforward, kind of like a home page, pretty obvious it's the place to go first. Put my News, tribe mission, and rules here (stickied), along with Introductions posted below.

Also Monthly updates about the village? no chance, I can cover both same as now easily. As has been said, they're intimately linked.

You were the one who suggested separating tribe and village discussion on your first post. I think sub-forums would be the easiest way, 99% of topics would go on the front page but the odd specific topics would have somewhere to go. It's much more organized than one thread for each, it also means you have to go past the combined section to reach the specific topics. A good example of such a topic would be "Building Methods in Eco-Village", totally village-centric very important.

We could get away without a tribe sub-forum as very little will be tribe and not village.  

Edit: As everyone else has done this, my suggestion summarised:

Real Life Tribe (Main Page/Read First)
Mission, rules, news, intros. Basically: "The one we can't decide on a name for but all know exactly what's going there."
Planning
On topic discussion. (Sub-forum for village specific topics if necessary)
Research
Research, obviously. Post completed tasks and jobs.
Off-Topic
Everything else.

If we made the main oage a site for intros, news and updates, then any problems could just go there?

I like your ideas and feel we should go with them. I personally don't see the need for a village sub forum but it doesn't really matter to me.

Also, problems are all part of planning because planning is a way of avoiding problems.

I agree about the problems posts. They are all planning issues so are entirely at home in there.

So are we ready to propose this to Payoan? Wed need to move topics into one of four forums and decide which current forums should be renamed to what, just so when unneeded forums are deleted, the topics arent also deleted
