And not to be picky... but I didn't get a welcome back

I welcomed you back... didn't I? Now you got me second guessing. I don't remember which topic but I'm fairly certain I did.

Either way, welcome back.

I did as well right? Maybe you were expecting like a welcome back ceremony? =P You gotta understand, we're low on funds.

Sorry I missed you in the news. Technically you never officially left...The others posted announcements  ;).

Also, this week will be up tonight, very little has happened and I was out yesterday (school commitments 6:30am - 10:00pm). If you want it in brief now then: private islands (/peninsulas) appear real possibility, Brazil has bad immigration but a relatively safe east coast. Malaria but no chagas.

Edit: 'Others' has an s in it :-[.

I can see Brazil as a possibility, but since it's still an inland continent, it makes me lord interest because I've grown to the point of wanting a forest/rainforest private island, for the reason of privacy. (And this whole thing about CNN wanting to track ridiculous stories like this) So, it wouldn't bother of to be in Brazil, but I have noticed lately that my immune system is barely starting to fall back a little, and I get pick more easily. So . don't think it'll bother of in the future, but it's just something I should think about.

we'll get the mission statement done sooner than later. That will at least give us some little thing to add to the update.

Progress Update 3: 11-09-10 *Mission Statement (almost!)*

This week has seen some behind-the-scenes progress in researching private islands. We are starting to establish links with the agents and have begun some more thorough examination of the Immigration Laws (the big 'I'), any help here will go a long way. Overall, it is looking very promising.

Tonbogiri has found another potential island location: http://www.privateislandsonline.com/french-island-argentina.htm. Although from what I've heard the Argentinian government makes the Brazilian government look soft. Mainly it's a fantastic example of the number of islands available in the sub-EUR1million range.

Finally, the mission statement is nearly finished!

And at special request: Welcome back Hawnu Uniltxep! We have missed you. And 'Itan Atxur. ;)

Progress Up to Now (What has been decided about the Tribe)
Location: Tropical - Subtropical climate (preference for sub.). Forest vegetation. Not Amazon or other super rainforests.
Considering temperate but only as a back up if sub tropics fail. Also some thoughts on private islands.
Tribe: To operate primarily as hunter gatherers, supplemented by small scale farming. Only self produced technology.
Eco Village: Electricity and permanent housing, permanent agriculture. Site for computers and medicine.
Government: Largely egalitarian although there will be one or more 'leaders' to coordinate day-to-day operations.

What's Next
Location: Immigration laws (TOP, TOP PRIORITY), disease and parasites, Land requirements (game, vegetation, electricity)
Tribe: Finalize suitable technology level.
Eco Village: Decide on necessary technology, choose power generation method, building methods?
Government: Outline government and laws in tribe.

To sum it up, although there have been only a few posts we have made some vital progress. And in case you missed it, we need everyone to be doing as much research as possible on Immigration Laws. ;)

I'll get on research asap. My mom and I are looking at some Internet options and trying to figure out how I could pay for it or pay her back. Research on an iPod totally sucks.

Building ourselves back up slowly but surely! Its like I said: you can't kill an idea. Even if the originators move on, new people will take the torch.

@Hawnu: 不用客气。我们全都爱你。

@'Eylan: I'd love to work on some research since I'm on a week's break right now. Anything I could take up?

you all do have to be careful with picking the country. cause if its foren then people not regularly introduced to it can get sick and possibly die...and i know no one wants that.

I think anything location related is good.
In particular where immigration isn't a problem.
