Promotional Video: Rough Draft

Hello all,
I'm sure that everyone has noticed that our tribe numbers are slowly depleting, so I used my spare time to concuct some propaganda using other media techniques. I contacted 'Itan asking his permission to post and he was keen to, so, here it is.

there is a flash-tag on the lower left at the tag icons. but unfortunately, flash embedding is disabled on learnnavi, so the file is shown as a hyperlink...

I like the effort!

It is very artistic and well thought through. A video was a great idea!
Good points:
The music fits with the message! Too often do we hear things like michael jackson "Earth Song" to these things.
It's clear and to the point.

Things to work on:
If you have background music, try not to put in the sound for a rainforest at the same time. Very few songs go with that glorious cacophany!
The words can sometimes become lost in a same colour background - either change the font colour for that clip, or don't use that picture.
Finally...the message seems a bit blunt. It is a good idea to remind people of what is wrong with current ways (I liked the "stare the cause in the face" bit), but positive reinforcement works better. Be more subtle about the message, it works!

Myself and a crew once made a film that made it to an international competition. We didn't win because our director went over the top about "selfish people" and "abandonment", so apologies if I seem poignant!

In fairness, you are the first to do this, so karma for you! And keep up the good work.

ok, it works for me with an online proxy and the YT page url (instead the actual video's URL). perhaps it is blocked in germany due to the music content  

anyway...

Good job. Tonbogiri mentioned the major "issues" which could be improved and i agree with him.
one thing what i have to add: let the music fade-out at the end (3-5 secs from 100% to 0% while showing the URL) so it doesn't sound like the vid is broken

due to my post i figured out how to embed youtube vids here:
simply post the vid page url (not the video url): youtube(.)com/watch?v=.......
no tags needed. the forum embeds the vid automatically.

Well, I was going to do some filming myself but it was around 8:00 at night. Anywho, I thought it was an average effort with limited resources.

Very good idea.

I want to raise the issue of over-exposure though. It may be good not to post anything openly on youtube until we have something final, as this is all about image it makes sense to project the best image possible of the tribe.
