I disagree. I think that if you are going to ask why, you should be respectful about it, and who knows? Maybe they will say something that strikes you down to your core (I personally was finally able to incorporate some of the things that I believe now after a long talk over PM with one of the other members here ^_^ And they gave me some new ideas as well.).

I will say this- I gotta thank James Cameron for reminding me what I had forgotten while in high school. Gaia knows I love nature ^__^

Well, one thing I like about Judaism is that they say that they adhere to the principle that you don't have to be Jewish to go to heaven because "the righteous of all nations will have a place in the Kingdom of God". So if you're a righteous person, you'll be welcome.

How many other religions say that? Most of them say you have to be a club-card member to get "in".

Of course that means if the Jews are right, you can do what you want as long as you're ethical about it. So.. yeah.  ;) :D
In Libertarianism, there is no Government, so the Bosses are free to exploit the Workers.
In Communism, there is no Government, so the Workers are free to exploit the Bosses.
So in Libertarianism, man exploits man, but in Communism, its the other way around!

Really? Did not know that! I had assumed that they were the same as everyone else ^_^;; well, now I feel foolish. I think that I'll throw that onto my belief system as well- not that it wasn't already hidden there somewhere, just that I hadn't really said it out loud ^_^

I consider myself an Apatheist.

Not only do I now know if there is a god/ess or not, I don't particularly care or see how it makes a difference one way or the other. I leave such ponderings to the shamans and mystics.

I'm not so much a cynic... it just seems to me that WHY we are here or HOW we got here is less important than WHAT we do here.

Letxuma Swizaw

I was refering to one of my favourite quotes "The opposite of the religious fanatic is not the fanatical atheist but the gentle cynic who cares not whether there is a god or not." couldn't tell you who said it though. I was indifferent at first but then linked the what to the why and how, later realizing that it does matter what we do here but why because it affects the earth as a whole and how because life will find a way.

Well... In Christianity there is thing such as Limbus Patrum. Not-Christian, "good people" end in there. It's not Hell but also not Heaven...

Maybe you've heard it phrased as 'limbo'? The place where unbaptized babies supposedly go if they die. If you believe that sort of thing.

I'm not religious. I believe in reincarnation. I think that once you die, your 'sight' moves to another body, leaving your life and mind behind.

Hey, to each their own. I could just as easily doubt that your whole religion is a true belief. Then you can respond. Someone else will jump in, and so forth. When we go down that road, this whole thread turns into a flame-war. If that's where it's going to go, the mods might as well lock it now.
