Honestly I'm VERY impressed that this hasn't already turned into a flame war and I think this is a very good sign for the tribe overall.

I am very glad that this hasn't turned into a Flame war ^_^ I think that we are all civilized, rational human beings that can stand it if someone is of a different opinion than us.

Though scientology strikes me as something that would make me sad- just saying ^_^;;

Lol. I have yet to meet a scientologist, but I've met people of almost every other religion, belief, or faith (or whatever else you want to call it). Heck, I even have a group of Jehovah witnesses that I invite into my house each week to "discuss" religion.

I'm believing in None. Next time you need a little bit of hope, just do like me and pray Void the god of nothingness ;D

Seriously, I believe in anything that science can prove. Aside from that, if there's one or many gods, I just hope they know what they are doing... Reincarnation would be a nice alternative.

I'm not bashing on Jehovah beliefs or anything but it is really annoying when you have a sign on your door that clearly states that you don't want to talk about religion and they still come day after day after day. I'm all for religious tolerance but they can be just rude sometimes.

I'm atheist so I don't believe in god really, however I still hope there is some form of afterlife or as you said, reincarnation.

Hopefully I won't start a bashing party here, but I don't see how no gods and reincarnation add up.

Well that's the thing about religion in general is that it doesn't add up. You can trace religions extremely far back and most notably the Greeks. They didn't have science so what they did to explain unknown things was use their imaginations to create stories that explained it. Religious mentality basically is "I'm right until you prove me wrong" while science is "Your wrong until you can prove it right".

What is one of the few things that is still a complete unknown to humans? That would be what happens after death which is what the majority of religions focus on today, and unfortunately it is something we will probably never figure out because you can't really study death after you're dead.

Don't hurt me if my thought process doesn't make sense, it's all a jumbled mess of thoughts in my head that lead to conclusions.

Yeah, I've been Christian all my life, and there's quite a bit of proof that the Bible isn't as fake as everyone thinks it is, but there's no real proof that God actually exists. It's all about being faithful.

However, I'm not willing to shun it. It's a strange predicament that you find yourself in.

I know someone, who said they're afraid of death because they think you're soul feels the pain your dead body goes through...

But I always thought that once you die, you see black. That's it. But I think that the second you die, your sight travels to you getting born anywhere from that day to 1,000 years in the future.

Just like the Greeks I believe that some of the events in the bible are there to explain some natural event that could not otherwise be explained.

That's gonna be really hard to do since there aren't a lot of similarities, Buddhists don't go around converting people and burning witches.
