Alright now I have a major problem and Im freakin confused and always thinking and being side tracked of it.
Well all my life I have dreamed of becoming a huge musician and make millions and be famous for guitar playing right? Well, I went to see avatar and found this site after my second viewing of it. And then I saw the tribe forum. I signed up Instently. Now all was good until I had remembered about the whole wanting to be a god of guitar. Then I started thinking and thinking and thinking
Well finally one math class i figured out a way to kindof balance things out. But just as i went to post it on here Anther variable happended. Well I had always been jamming with a couple of my friends and we finally got a few gigs so we went and played them and made $1253.20 in profit (going to band fund) But after the third gig a man walked up to me and said and i quote"Damn kid, you got some talent up there. I am almost a hundered percent sure if you worked at it you could be one of the best. May I say, and 21st century Jimmy Hendrix" He handed me a card with a couple numbers(not important) and I really think you know what i dont know what im going to do. But what do you guys think of this?:
Well wait it out 2 years or so with no change on what im going to do. And on May 10th, 2012 If I still want to go through with this and go to the tribe (or if it hasn't fallen totally apart(knock on wood)) and nothing else has happened with the musical world ( more like a dream at this point ) I will go to the tribe permenently. Now lets say that something major happened in the musical world and something major changed everything. I would stick with the musical world and switch from permenent to Temp. and make major donations to the fund. PLEASE HELP ME!

Generally, I think musicians get over payed like NFL Players but all the same I wish you luck in your music career but try not to focus on the money  :), when it becomes about the money rather than the fun and beauty of the music things generally go down hill pretty fast. Don't wanna end up as the RDA of the music industry eh?  ;)

dude as someone who loves psychology (and has seen a few psychologists in his time) im gonna say, Its your life, you can do whatever the hell you want, if you think that your gonna get somewhere with your music, go for it, dont let something as theoretical (atm) as the tribe drag you down (i had to take a big break from this to think about my prioitories and im planning to do another).

follow your heart but listen to your head.

Ultimately what you want to do is what you should do, if you want to pursue music as a career then I say go for it ^_^ You don't need any of us to tell you what you should do, make a decision for yourself and run with it :)

Well, the Eco-Village is going to have a sort of Indie Game Making Company, so having a god of guitar to stay/transfer between the two wouldn't be too bad.

Ya you can scare away the tigers/panthers/neighbors who call the police for you playing music too loud.  :)

Music is a beautiful thing, and you obviously love it if you are torn. You will always be one of the tribe, be always connected to us and the earth. If you want to become a music idol and follow that dream than do it. You are still one of us, no matter where you go.

Urms, not sure how to make it that much clearer :/ Other than that quite a few of the members of the eco-village have expressed an interest in devolping games to make money to pay for the costs required to sustain this project in the long term. I am guessing you wouldn't be allowed an acoustic guitar in the tribe (I know there was a discussion and the main concern was the potential damage to instruments due to weather exposure etc) however you would more than likely be allowed to take it to the eco-village (I mean I can't think of a reason why not but that is more for the perm members of the village to decide)

I think he should be allowed, mostly because music is important to a culture, however, I would suggest that if it is not okay, that you learn to make your own! You can get the wood from any tree, and maybe bring strings but making your own instrument is a worth wile process and it would be your own little peice of the village to take with you when you leave, or when you return. ^_^

dude, dont ignore a calling like that! do you have any idea how meny of us would want to hear those words spoken to us? (not exactly, but you get what i mean). i say, wait it out for a couple years, see if anything goes big with you, and if nothing happens join the tribe. i cant really cause: A) im still in high school and mom wouldnt let me, B) i want to create games someday and i can only do that if i go to collage, and C) i love writing. it, besides gaming, ceeps me happy so mabey i'll be a author some day. (mabey i could record history for the tribe if i ever join).

So yeay, go for the top before you decide to go into the tribe!

Txuraeyktan, I totally understand how you feel.

This is also a major dilemna for me, too. My other route consists of magic tricks, hypnosis, and results in a fast kinda lifestyle.
But I still get the shivers when I see Avatar! My choice has been to accept that the tribe is definitely going to succeed (maybe a little ambitious, but whatever) but not for a while - so get my act going right now!

As for your situation, if a talent scout came up to you specifically, then it is entirely possible that you have a great future in music. I say go for it - what is the worst that could happen? You could always ask for a one or two year deal (or something) and maybe give the tribe time to get going?

have fun with the indecision!
Don't go Harvey Dent on us though ;)

Txuraeyktan, you're not really the only one in this kind of a situation.  I want to also try to make it big in music, though I haven't been in a band yet to show myself off.

Honestly, these are the people that get lucky (because they are good, and they show themselves off in public).  There's a reason why there is the term "starving artists."

Irayo much and i think i know what im going to do. I just signed up for even more guitar lessons ( i get about 4 a week to 6 a week) and I am going to do this: Stay on the fence for about 2 more years as i said. and if there is still no doubt that i still wanna be in tribe then but music life is still high I sit on fence for another year, so by may 10th 2013 i will have my awnser
Just an update on the music world/band life: since last time i was on played another gig (we played crazy train, trail of broken hearts, stairway to heaven and Mr.crowley) but 1 of my band members ( rythmst) might quit
4 gigs pre scedualed

That sounds like a wise decision to me. And I'd love to hear you play. If you can do Ozzy... well... then just wow.

Off topic: I was at a Manchester Wolves football game and you'll never guess who was sitting just one section away from me? Yup! Ozzy Osbourn. My friend got a pic and a sig but I wasn't a fan at the time! How I kick myself now. But the craziest part is this: After the game we went to dunkin dounuts. Guess who walked in behind us...
