I know this is a necropost and this isnt a very relevant post but

some of you may know that paul frommer has finally given us a meaning for the word meoauniaea

its meaning is "harmony, living in the world as part of the Great Mother" so i thought that

olo'meoauniaeayä (the tribe of harmony) i though it sounded good (if i got teh translation right)

I like it, and I think it's very relevant, we need to know who we are after all.

Don't take this badly but the only thing I'd be concerned about is whether we really want the longest (I hope it is at least) word in na'vi in our name, although it is very appropriate. Hard for non-na'vi-ers to recognise. I still think we should get "Na'vi" in there somewhere, partly because it's recognisable but also because it's just cool.

i just thought something relavant to our cause was in call for

because most people have said that we are no longer a "Na'Vi" Tribe, were going to become a hunter gather society with elements (language and some culture) taken from teh Na'Vi ( or so iv been led to believe)

I know what you mean, we're definitely not going to paint ourselves blue and, well you know the drill.

The Na'vi thing is more like an inspiration, what we are hoping to create doesn't exist and has not existed, na'vi is just a vivid depiction of what we hope to make it. Not an authentic pre-civilised culture, although it has other connotations 'post-civilised' would be an apt description.

Anyway, I do love the meaning of the name. But 11 syllables I guess you'd get used to it .

We did but nothing was confirmed. I don't think the name would be confirmed anytime soon as I think we still have mixed opinions about the nature and function of the tribe.
