Who will commit to this?

Now, before I get smited for trying to resurrect the committed members thread ( which I am not trying to do here by the way). Who in the tribe can say that they are definitely going to do this, or at least plan to definitely do this. I am sorry if this question offends anyone. I will try and explain why I ask this. In the very near future, I will be making some choices, these choices will make life harder for me if the tribe fails (which I of course hope it does not) because I personally need all the time I have between now and the star of the tribe to gain the skills and knowledge to be a useful and productive member of this tribe. While this will not completely shatter my life if the tribe fails, I will still be left sticking together a lot of pieces in order to regain my previous direction. So, to sum up, you don't have to prove anything here. I just need a little reassurance because occasionally I wonder if such an overwhelming commitment to one concept is a good idea. Negyä tsmukan simply needs a little positive reinforcement here . Irayo frapo.

I can't say right now if I will definitely join the tribe.
Like we said, it could take more than 4 years, so I think nobody can say if he will join the tribe before at least 1 year (right now it's funny, we saw avatar, but what will be our mind in 1 or 2 years about this?) !

Well I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that, if there is a tribe, I will be there, from the beginning. I agree that the eco-village is a great idea that I would love to see come to fruition but, if it doesn't then I will go anyway. This really has become my life's goal

I'm definitely committed. (Not really sure where to "join the tribe" however.) Failing this I've been considering an eco-village. (My long term plans been to earn enough money to get some land to live off the earth (minimal resources from the outside and self-built structures (probably cob) etc.)

The tribe just cuts out the middle step.

You are already in the tribe, you just post in the US or out of US profiles thread and you're "in" the tribe. This thread was more sort of me seeking reasurance from everyone about tribe realisticaly, because I will be making some major changes to my prior life plan so as to better accomodate this lifestyle. This will have such a dramatic effect on my life that occasionaly the thought of the tribe failing occure and it scares me.

I'm still trying to decide, but I'm thinking of just taking a month out of my summer to be in the tribe.  I need to get more in touch with my inner self, but I just need to escape my normal reality.

Look. We are going to be waiting for this to happen for a few years (up to 4) unless we have changed our minds on that. Whoever stays by that time is going to be without a doubt commited, because a lot of stuff can happen to persuade some to one side another in 4 years. There will be time for some people to really think about it and ask themselves if they can really see themselves as being out there in the world with a bunch of people they have known for a while and depend on them to survive and hopefully thrive.

That's good and all, my worry was that where will not be so many members still here after four years, the decisions I will be taking (look 1st post) will be happening a lot sooner.

I am certainly very interested in this, however I expect my life to change dramatically once I leave school and home, so my plans for life may vary quite a bit. I think this will happen to a lot of "committed" people who have yet to leave school. The way University/College changes your life is a lot more dramatic that most think, I know complete nerds who spent all day at home who are now into rock climbing, hang gliding and other extreme sports now that they have left school.

well you know bout me fnua i'm totally committed to this whether its eco village or tribe (would prefer tribe). Iv still got uni to come but if it goes the same way as my 6th form is going then the tribe will be a much welcome change
