Yup!  bi-, tri- and multilingualism are important tools for exercising our brains!  This is why I want so much to be more fluent in more languages, so that when I have my babies I can speak various languages around them and help stimulate their little brains and get them off onto a good start in life ;)

My nephew, for example, has a Polish-speaking mother, grandparents and aunts, lives in Quebec where French is spoken, and has a (primarily) English-speaking father, as well as the other grandparents and me who are almost exclusively English-speakers (although I do try to chatter a bit at him in other languages I know when they visit or I visit them, not that it helps him learn them, but it helps him to keep hearing the sounds in them, so...)
