Maybe I will can observe this comet tonight again :)
And I could :)
Sky was clear few hours after midnight so I observed again. I observed several star clusters in rising winter constellations, Orion Nebula and comet 21P/Giacobini-Zinner. Thanks good sky conditions, comet was very nice, core with coma was nice visible.

I had again clear sky tonight
I observed many open clusters, globular clusters M15, M2, M56 and M71, planetary nebula M27 and M42+43 Orion nebula. And also comet 21P/Giacobini-Zinner.
+ I saw one quite bright meteor :)

Dang, I haven't been out observing in a while, mainly doe to clouds.
If there's one thing I am doing, it's anticipating celestial events, which are Comet 46P, a total lunar eclipse in January, and of course, for everyone here in North America...darkness falls again. On April 8, 2024, Mexico, the eastern US, as well as parts of eastern Canada, will be treated to a total solar eclipse. At greatest eclipse, totality lasts 4 minutes and 28 seconds. I will be traveling to the path of totality this time, after missing out in 2017 due to my job.

Oh, nice! I hope that you will can see it :)

I would like see total solar eclipse again... (I saw last one at 2006 from Turkey)

BlueHusky2154

You should be able to see the lunar eclipse in January I believe, and I already have a T-shirt for 2024.  :)

Astronomers Just Found a Planet Where Star Trek's Vulcan Was Predicted to Exist

So far, astronomers have identified thousands of exoplanets out there beyond the reaches of the Solar System, but only a rare few are the stuff of legend. Such is the case with an Earth-like exoplanet, found orbiting a star called 40 Eridani A - Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry's preferred location for Vulcan, the home planet of Mr Spock.

Located around 16 light-years from Earth in the southern constellation of Eridanus, 40 Eridani A is part of a triple-star system. Although it was never mentioned in the original TV series of Star Trek, it had been put forward as a proposed location for the planet by related literature.

Sadly I haven't been able to observe much lately, mainly because of clouds. Someone obviously bought a new telescope and afflicted all of us with the New Telescope Curse.

Hope that you will have clear sky soon.

Weather is already colder here but sky is still often clear. Currently there is only one obstruction for deepsky observation - Moon.

Clear sky now, so a bit of daytime astronomy ;D

I observed the Sun at first but no sunspots again....
After it I tried daytime Venus and Jupiter - Venus was easy (thanks his brightnes) despite relative low declination, nice crescent was visible, but Jupiter was quite hard, I was able see it but it was like as "ghost".
On end I tried observe Arcturus (this is probably the best star for daytime observation) - and I was successfull after longer finding :)

:O How can you find it (with your telescope)?

I search his direct position on the sky (azimuth and high) and targeted my telescope on this area (wuth some experiences itš not such difficult). I used my widescreen eyepiece (field of view almost 2 degrees) so targeting was not such difficult and thanks high brightness of arcturus it was not too difficult see it as very little point.
