Very bright stars! ;D
;D ;D ;D
You think magnitudes? ...
My value is approx. brightness of Venus (-4,7 mag) ;D
EyeOfPython's -6,25 mag can be visible by naked eye on daily sky.

EyeOfPython meanwhile leads.

I gave many friends temporal blindness by offering them to wear my glasses for a short time.
If I make errors, don't hesitate to correct me.

For normal eye sight through -6,25D lens must be really brutal.

I have -4,7
I have 2.0  ;)

If you have +2.0, you are as compared with us farsighted?

You're 14. Don't worry yet.

Why are we talking about glasses in an astronomy thread? ;D

Because eyes are for astronomer most important "instrument".  :) ;D

EyeOfPython

I see this competition closed. I would thank my family, which gave me the right genes and environment so that my eyes became so bad -_-

"Peace on Earth" was all it said.

`Eylan Ayfalulukanä

I suspect I have you all beat. I can't find my eyeglass prescription at the moment, but I believe I am north of -7 diopters :(

So `Eylan Ayfalulukanä is winner of our dioptry competition.

Yesterday I shortly observed Moon surface. It was really nice. (around first or last quarter is the best)

This is also good piece:

HRH!!

It has been hazy or cloudy here the last week or so. I have been trying to catch this apparition of Mercury, but missed it on the one opportunity I had to find it. The combination of vision problems I have makes it especially hard to spot specular objects (like Mercury) against a bright sky. This is also one of the reasons why a go-to 'scope is especially helpful for me.

Previous night (Friday/Saturday) I have nice night with clear sky and good sky conditions.

In first part of night I observe Venus, Jupiter (and his moons) and mainly globular clusters (M3, M5, M13, M92, M10, M12). Very nice was especially M13 in Hercules and M5 in serpens. I observe also my two favourite galaxies M51 Whirlpool galaxy and M104 Sombrero Galaxy. Spiral arms of M51 and powder belt in M104 were visible. Interesting was also planetary nebula M97 (Owl Nebula) in Ursa Major.

I observe also "lord of rings" (Saturn  ;D). Goodly was visible Cassini division in rings and on Saturn was distinct north equatorial belt. I saw slso 5 moons of saturn (Titan, Rhea, Tethys, Dione and Iapetus)

In second part of night I observe especially DSO in milky way in "summer triangle".
Amazing were two known planetary nebulae (M57 Ring Nebula and M27 Dumbell Nebula). M57 was visible as lightly green (color feeble) bright ring. Bipolar structure of M27 was very nice visible.
Interesting was two dark nebulae (Barnard 142+143) in Aquila. Thanks dark sky was wisible already through little binocular. In my 12 inch telescope were both visible (under low magnification) as dark places in abundant star backgroud of milky way.

True amazing was nebulaes in Cygnus. Very nice was my favourite NGC7000 North America Nebula. It's amazing how the shape of this nebula resembles the North American continent. This shape is on dark sky visible alredy through little binocular. In telescope was very impressive area of Mexico and Mexico Gulff.
Visible was also IC5067 Pelican nebula (is visible only darker sky) and nice NGC 6960+6992 Veil Nebula (visible impressive filaments).

Absolutely fantastic on dark sky is Cygnus Star Cloud (big and right part of milky way between stars Gamma Cygni and Beta Cygni). This is fantastical through binocular and telescope. In telescope (using widescreen eyepiece, low magnification) is visible indescribable amount of little stars with several open clusters and dark nebulae. Very nice was double star Albireo (Beta Cygni) with nice color contrast (bigger orange star and smaller blue star).

It was very nice observation (and comfortable night - windless and 14°C)
