Creating worlds

For ages SF and Fantasy writers have created strange mystical and fascinating worlds. But now also scientists are getting more and more interested in the game of creating more or less plausible alien worlds.

Here is the project Darwin 4 where TV-makers and scientists have imagined how life could look on a planet 6,5 lightyears from us. The planet has a gravitation 60 percent of the Earth but a somewhat denser atmosphere (does it sound familiar?).

Another approach is to imagine life on Earth in a future when man has dissapeared. That is done in the TV series The Future is Wild.

I think Wayne Barlowe was involved in the Darwin 4 show...  I really like his creature creations; he puts a lot of thought into them.
