As a person that doesn't belive in ghosts, I'd say that it's some bug in the detection.

A ghost in the Kinect detected by thermal image? Well that sounds like the kind of utter tosh only the ignorant would believe in ... I'm not saying for one moment that there isn't something to explain but it's far, far, far (...) more likely that it's something like a coding fault or other entirely naturally explainable feature. That it cannot (or has not) yet been explained is entirely irrelevant.
