we need to discover "anti-gravity" its in millions of TV shows and sci-fi movies. it MUST exist. (like flying cars in year 2000..HA)

we have already discovered and managed to create anti-matter...

microevolution is fine...(leavin that one alone now...WHOLE other plate of teylu there...)

HEH. who wouldnt believe in gravity tho? we dont float around. we walk etc.

okay, lets not start arguing over one of the four fundamental forces of nature, the others being the Strong nuclear force, the weak nuclear force, and electromagnetism.

I dislike the term force in the context of quantum mechanics (and therefore when talking about the strong and weak interactions) as it encourages people to think about them in terms of pushes and pulls which doesn't quite work. Anyway, the strong interaction is far and away the best. :)

Do you think gravitons exist? I hope they do. They're just too awesome to not exist.

It's a cynical piss-take aimed at those who say they don't believe in evolution which (they claim) is "just a theory" (a.k.a the height of ignorance) ... indeed the same basic concept has led to a number of sites that promote the cynically humorous "theory of intelligent falling".

like many things, gravity exists whether one believes in it or thinks about it or not.

Which leads back to gravity believing in us, HRH :)

In that I think there is a theory of quantum gravity, yes. Do I think we'll see them any time soon? No, on the scale of a particle trace, gravity's just too weak to show up easily.

What about the gravity effects of dark matter? ::)

nawma skxawng

That's interesting, dark matter is not regular matter, so gravity should not affect it, however I'm no physicist, so I'm not sure

Gravity is how we know about dark matter (specifically through the rotational speed of the outside of galaxies). Currently it's thought to interact with normal matter solely through gravity (which distinguishes it from neutrinos which also interact weakly).
