Holographic Plasma

Yeah, tangible holograms are not stuff from the far future:

 :D
stuff like this console would be possible:

Holodecks like in Star Trek or those holograms used in Star Wars could be possible too.

But using plasma, which by definition is superheated ionized gas, wouldn't sticking your hand in it incinerate your hand instantly? Plasma is usually created by electricity arcing through a gas, like lightning, arc welding, and neon signs. Makes no sense to me.  ??? :-\

Plasma have not to be superheated, plasma is just ionized gas.

Wouldn't it still hurt? It's still electrically charged with thousands ov volts?

According the video, that guy who touched the hologram is still ok. I think, the voltage of that plasma isn't high enough to hurt. Also, if I understood it correctly, the laser ionise the gas but not completely so that the electrons fall back to their atoms and by this the gas is emitting light.

If the voltage is high, and the frequency is high, and the current is low, then he would be ok electrical wise, like a flyback transformer. But, if he was grounded, the power will jump to him, and the arc would generate heat, burning him.
