Pandoran-like structure on earth?

I am watching a very interesting documentary that describes something living in Oregon, that is very much like the network of trees on Pandora. (The show also mentions an actual network of trees in Utah, and similar smaller tree networks grow on the mountain in front of my house). Sivunu ngaru!
