Russia needs to hurry up, because the spacecraft who was going to the Mars' moon Phobos is stuck in Earth's orbit, and If they can't get control of it, it will crash down on Earth. And this spacecraft is radioactive, that's what it makes it dangerous, and very dangerous to the public



Another Ria Novosti report, translated from its original Russian, suggested that if Phobos-Grunt does fall back to Earth, it would likely not fall over Russia. The spacecraft's orbit carries it between the latitudes of 51.4 degrees north and south of the equator, a region that includes the United States, China, Africa, Japan, Ukraine and parts of southwestern Europe.

maybe, they can save it. It's just to get control of the spacecraft, but If not, well, we're screwed. Then we maybe must go with mask the whole time such as the chinese and the japanese people. Area around Chernobyl is really beautiful nature... That radioactivity can make damages, but nature will heal quickly... And there wo't be any damages caused by human, beacuse human will be afraid of that residual radioactivity... And in Fukushima no radioactivity has left the building...

by the way... How many percent of the area, where it can crash is ocean and how many percent is inhabited land?

Japan has beautiful nature also, too bad that the nature in Japan will not be normal at about 10,000 years :( :'(

This is seriously, It has leaked radioactivity in big areas. probably over almost the whole Asia and over to Europe, but it was very low radioactivity in Europe.

That radiation is quite small...compared to what we all have on Pandora!  ;D

Seriously, it is a bit of a security precaution than anything else. EX your chance of getting cancer might change from say 0.04% to 0.07% if you eat Fukushima vegetables, but that's about it.

new method has been found out to find alien life.

It is to detect nightlights on other planets from alien cities

In what I think, for this method, we will only find intelligence life, like us

Not like the na'vi, or maybe we can that too, detect bioluminescence on a planet :)

Let me explain that

How do scientists detect a planet? Well they see if a transit on a star, If a star casting shadow

In that we see the dark side of the planet, that's how scientists can detect nightlights

No, that is a picture drawn with a computer.

We actually detect stars wobbling around. In this way, we can determine that there is a planet tugging the star around with gravity. For example, as the Earth moves around the sun, the sun very slightly wobbles around in a circle.

Edit: we actually can "see" transits, but we can't see the planet. We can detect a slight decrease in the brightness of the star, and then determine how big the planet is etc.

It shouldn't be... Computer models are being kepr simply... That clouds are making worse quality of observation... On computer model it'll be unwanted...

You can get pictures of transits of planets in the solar system, but NOT exoplanets such as Pandora  ;)

And we're quite sure that there are no night lights on Mars!

we know it is no nightlights on Mars. We have sent satellites to Mars, who orbiting and even the MER(Mars Exploration Rover) knows it is no nightlights

The only thing we don't know about, is Pluto. We don't know how the surface looks like, or even how the dark side looks like, we don't know almost nothing of Pluto, only size and it has 4 moons
