WANDERERS – interesting vision of humanity's future expansion into the Solar System:

http://erikwernquist.com/wanderers/film.html

WANDERERS is a short science fiction film about vision of humanity's future expansion into the Solar System by Erik Wernquist (digital artist and animator from Stockholm).

Although admittedly speculative, the visuals in the film are all based on scientific ideas and concepts of what our future in space might look like, if it ever happens.

Txantsan! This is a nice view in the future.

Yeah, I've posted that video already in the video of the day thread, but apparently nobody noticed it...

Oh, I also failed to notice here...

Yes, it's very nice vision. Especially floating above Saturn atmosphere with his rings on the sky and walking on Europa surface with huge Jupiter on horizon...

I have a nasty feeling that if humans don't start to get off their homeworld relatively soon, then they may never develop that ability.
Maned Mach3 aircraft do not fly anymore. They are no longer able to operate any passenger aircraft capable of more than mach1.
They have been unable to reach their nearest body, their moon since 1972.
There are technologically capabilities for so much, but nobody will fund the projects.

No bucks, no Buck Rogers!
All of which makes me very sad, and slightly depressed.

I see the lack of interest of the politicians and the People.

...because the people actually have 'more important' problems than thinking about exploring the space... :(

Yes, it's unfortunatelly true. In times of "race to the Moon" it was a matter of prestige. Similar interest now missing.

Not including the Mig25 and 31. Both are theoretically capable of speeds of at least mach3.2, but both wreck the engines to do so.

:/
So, at that speed of technology development, the events of Avatar on Pandora would happen later than Cameron thought.  :-\

We're in danger of going backwards.
Honestly? I don't know much about space exploration, but even if there isn't that much development now, it doesn't mean there's none everywhere else.
