I'm in favor of the plaque as a gift to the SFM. Though I think we all could pitch in and get Mugs for the people that are working super hard to make this happen on their end.

I will help with the message in Na'vi on the plaque and even original artwork (if appropriate), but please, someone else, figure out WHAT and from where to order it, etc.

Can we still get in on the lunch?  I won't know til the end of the month if I'm definitely going, but if I am, I'd love to be a part of this.

Yes, of course.

Cool.  When I know that I'm definitely going to be there, I'll let you all know.

Everyone,

I have good news and bad news.

The good news is that we have enough money based on the generous pledges in this thread to have lunch catered.

The other good news is that the EMP/SF Museum has an exclusive relationship with Wolfgang Puck catering.

The bad news is that Wolfgang Puck is very fancy and there are some required fees that are unavoidable, etc. I'm sure lunch will be delicious, but it won't be a buffet at the Ritz.

I need everyone to indicate ONE SELECTION PER PERSON in your group. If you are coming alone, you should only respond for yourself. If you are coming with 2 other people who are not members of LN.org and can't select their own option, you must do it for them, so you + 2 = 3.

The minimum order is for 35 boxed lunches. That's not negotiable. If there are a few extras, there are a few people who have generously volunteered to give extra donations to this cause so they should get any of the unclaimed calories.

Here is the Menu:

A: WPC Tuna Sandwich Box Lunch with Tim's Chips, Cookie, Bottled Water and Whole Piece of Fruit

B: Roast Turkey Sandwich Box Lunch with Tim's Chips, Cookie, Bottle of Water and Whole Piece of Fruit

C: Roast Beef with Cheddar Cheese Sandwich Box Lunch with Tim's Cascade Chips, Cookie, Bottle of Water and Whole Piece of Fruit

D: Ham Sandwich Box Lunch with Tim's Cascade Chips, Cookie, Bottle of Water and Whole Piece of Fruit

E: Roasted Veggie Wrap Boxed Lunch with Tomato, Red Onion, Cucumber and Pesto Spread with
Tim's Cascade Chips, Cookie, Bottle of Water and Whole Piece of Fruit

What we may lose in "extravagance of dining" we gain in time together—uninterrupted from K. Pawl—in the great space generously provided by the Museum.

Please respond in this thread in this model ASAP:

  Prrton --- for 2
  B: Turkey = 1
  C: Roast Beef = 1

Thanks and please spread the word that everyone WHO IS CONFIRMED AS COMING needs to respond to this. We have to give the caterers a specific count of each type of boxed lunch.

I also need 5 people to volunteer to be a "cleanup crew" with one person as Captain.

Normally WPC requires that staff be there from their organization to do that. Of course, that's expensive. We can't afford it. So, they are breaking their own rules to do us a favor. But, we need to volunteer to do what they would normally do so that burden does not fall on the Museum. It will mainly just mean that things are disposed of and if there are any spills or other messes (by accident) that we don't just leave them there.

We CANNOT leave the Blue Lounge in a mess when we leave, kefyak?

Thanks for being willing to help with the tidying up!

For the cost, you should go "volunteer" up in the pole at the top of this topic. I'd suggest clicking on the $12.50 option for one person if you can do that.  Anything above $12.50 is greatly appreciated, but our members seem to be doing what they can to make the whole experience happen for all, each according to her or his own means. That's one of the things that make this such a great group!!

   :)

I'll be setting up a PayPal address where folks can pay what they've pledged in advance or if you can't use PayPal, you could pay me (or whomever does the aggregate payment to the caterers in advance) in Seattle.

More news coming on that front once we have the order nailed down.

Thx./Irayo

Maria TunVrrtep

Done.  I can actually pay more than the $12.50 if needed.
I think a Paypal account is a great idea.  I'll wait to hear about that.
