All who will be there for 09 July at the SF Museum...

We need to QUICKLY figure out what our CATERING BUDGET is for lunch. The Museum is graciously donating space within the Museum for us to get together and socialize with each other privately during the lunch hour, but we'll have to pay for our own lunch. They are also willing to coordinate that through their standard event process, but I have to give them a budget VERY SOON. Please realize that if you have pledged money previously for a meeting space, you won't actually need to donate for that (since the Museum is being so generous), but everyone needs to now commit to support the cost of lunch. I'm going to set up a poll above and put the minimum at $12.50 per person. You should pledge as much as you are comfortable with, but everyone should be paying at least $12.50 (if you can). If you are coming with friends/family, please select an answer that reflects the correct body count for your immediate multi-person group.

I'm fine with anything. Only thing I'm allergic to is latex and we don't eat that. :D

I have 2-3 others in my party tho I only selected the individual price. As much as I'd like to treat my friends to lunch, I won't be able to afford it nìkeftxo. I'll PM my friends and make sure they know about this thread :)

I don't have food allergies, but my preferences are: No rice, tomatoes, onions, coconut, or mushrooms. I don't like any of those. Yeah....I'm weird. But who isn't? ;)

Near-carnivore here.....

It looks like Prrton is budgeting enough money here that it should be possible to have something like a mini-buffet that you frequently see as a catered lunch or dinner. This would give everyone a range of choices.

All factors considered (some of which are not overtly listed in the poll) I'm coming up with a budget of roughly $500.

Is anyone aware of anyone who has not responded to the poll yet? If so, please go POKE them to pony up.

I am hoping that we'll come up with something buffet-like so that onions, mushrooms, tomatoes, coconuts, animal protein products and the like can be selectively left on the bar available for those who are more appreciative.

Seiyi irayo.

Update on lunch venue...

It will be held in the Blue Lounge within the EMP/SF Museum.

This is the space that we will have to meet privately with Paul from roughly 11:30 AM ~1:00 PM. Lunch will happen during that time.

More details on the actual menu and post-1:00 PM activities will be forthcoming as they are fleshed out and confirmed.

   :)

Honestly, I expect the atmosphere in that room to be a bit more skewed towards "frenetic" than "chill", just based on the nature of the time of day and the fact that there are probably some very exciting artifacts associated with the exhibit. BUT, it does look like a really nice space and everyone will have to thank Kristen (who is coordinating for us) and the Museum, not me, please.

  ;)

Txonä Unil Stä'nìyu Rolyusì

I was just thanking for the pic. I think we should all come up with some way to express our thanks as a group. Like some really big card signed by all of us or something lol...Idk. But yeah the museum definitely deserves pxaya irayo anawm!

'Different' hardly describes that space. I suspect that this will be one of those memorable experiences that we will remember for years to come.

I know I will never forget this. Please convey my thanks to Kristine. We really should get them a gift, not something generic. Anyone think we would ever have a hand in something like this? Truly amazing.

I better chill before I start getting overly sentimental and write something that is either super awkward or makes you all cry. Many thanks to you all and to the fine folks at EMP/SFM

I think a little plaque in Na'vi with the translation on the back would be nice. Those kinds of things are UNIQUE and not expensive. Or a coffee mug or and "curious" item would probably be most interesting to them. If I were they it would.

We have to just make sure that the Na'vi on it is absolutely correct, however. Anything else would be very embarrassing only.

Zefanaya

I'm in favor of the plaque as a gift to the SFM. Though I think we all could pitch in and get Mugs for the people that are working super hard to make this happen on their end.
