would anyone be interested in a hike of local mountains/forests around July 9?

There are alot of places around seattle with awesome nature (for example Serene lake and bridal veil falls: http://www.washingtonhikes.com/2000/lakeserene/index2.html ). The event will take almost whole day and requires some physic form (being able to run 5miles in an hour would be enough).

As fun as that sounds I would have to pass. I don't think my knee's would much appreciate it.

How far is it from central Seattle?

I also liked the idea of going to the Ho Rainforest, but it's too far.

the first one is about 1hr drive, maybe 1.5 with stops/slowpokes. Rainforest should be about 2.5 if you take a ferry - I would not do it as a day hike.
the first hike will take at least 4hrs to do, with enough things around to spend 5-6hrs. So if you leave Seattle at 9, you are unlikely to get back before 4pm.

If it helps any, during the June 4th meetup a few people climbed Mount Si at 4,000 ft. It was a unique area with great views at the top. It is about 45 minutes away from downtown Seattle.

So, what day you'd like to go? 8th? 10th? some other time? 8th will be the best fit for me and we are likely to leave around noon and be back 7-8pm. I have 3 extra spots in my car.
if 7-8pm is too late, we can go to a closer lake and this should save 2hrs.

That would be too late for people wanting to attend the BBQ Friday night, which is like most of the group. If we do this it'll have to be Sunday.

ok, sunday, 10th. I assume the earliest possible time will be better to accomodate late night travel plans.
If we leave around 9am, we can be back around 4-5pm.
