Just an interesting idea that the June 4th group has explored.

Here is our semi-final design (some clean-up needed):

It would cost $5 each and would be professionally digitaly printed on hard plastic with a pin on the back.   2" x 3"

It would be very easy to change out the ToS logo for the LearnNavi logo and change "June 4th" to "July 9th"...

What do you guys think? Do you want me to order name tags for this group as well? do you want a different design? or do you want to do name tags through someone else, or just not do them all together??   :)

I'll definitely want one.

You will just need to make sure there is enough room for some of the long names we have here.

I asked for the .PSD so i can play around with it. I think we can simply make the font smaller. I also suggest putting our rrtan names in smaller font, underneath the user name, or reverse that order.

It would be good to have nametags yes. What would be even more awesome is if the picture represented where we came from. For me I would want the westrrn ikran sea clan.

Just a thought.

For these to ACTUALLY be useful as name tags for K. Pawl (and John) they should also have people's real names (first names) on them.

Yeah like mine LOL

And yes, I agree I think our Earth names should also be on these in smaller font under the usernames.

I don't see why this makes a difference as to their usefulness.  Many people are quite used to being adressed by names other than their birth names.  Not that I object to having my "real" name on there, but honestly I respond just as quickly to Amaya, and have done for more than a decade.

I know, I respond to Txonä too lol. But we're talking about because we're not going to be the only ones there we want others to know our real names as well. We're a special group dedicated to learning the language...the REAL language and we want to have special things that set us apart from everyone else. Know what I mean? I think the name tags will be great for that :)

well, see, that's where I suppose the mindset of a lot of people here is different.  In the Anime fandom, there are people, good friends of mine, whose "real" names I didn't know for years, some I still don't know, and these are people I've roomed with, shared a bed with, chatted with many, many times, so to me, I'm just as comfortable with Karyuu Pawl calling me Amaya as Claire.  It honestly makes no difference.  In fact, for me, having people from the forum (or any of my anime friends) call my anything other than Amaya seems...very odd and jarring

;D YMMV of course :-*

Zefanaya

This is why I suggested it be optional. I go by Zefanaya because my real name is Zephaniah. You can see which is easier to spell. Pawl know's me as Zefanaya as do most of you. So I'm fine with my real or Na'vi name's...because I am usually refereed to as Z. So, real names optional. Now, are we all down with the background?

I totally suck at remembering names, so I think the name tag idea is terrific.   ;D

And I like the idea of having the option of both forum and 'Rrta names, although I'm thinking of changing my forum name to my first name anyway, so I suppose in my case it could be redundant.    :)

Use a Na'vi pronunciation of your name if you can. Just a suggestion.

Fortunately my first name needs no altering, although I also confess to being a bit disappointed about that as well.   ;D

Lìsä if you want something slightly exotic. But we may be getting a little off topic.

I will add my vote to having `Rrta name present but optional. I am just as happy to be called 'Eylan, although it is a bit generic. I might use my `Rrta nickname, which is 'Timba', but only in smaller type under the Na`vi name.

The background as it is, is fine. You don't want a background that is too busy or complex, and I think what you are showing strikes a good balance. Having all the backgrounds the same kind of identifies us as a group. But if different (read: individulalized) backgrounds were super-easy to do, I think I would use something different.

Well...

Different backgrounds would not be possible (Unless you want to create 20 different orders...)
Real Name would be possible...Maybe something like this?

Zefanaya

That's nice. Could you send me the .PSD file? I kind of want to play around with it. If you can, just PM me.

I think the dual-name tag looks nice, and the size choices are appropriate. (I'm still curious to see how a long name, like Txona Rolyu's full name would fit.)

I'm curious to know, if something other than style, why you are right-justifying the names?

Txonä would need to use his shorter name (Txonä Rolyu). As for right justification, it makes it look a little different, and to orient logo's on the bottom left. Left-just is over used in my opinion.
