Example: seiyi oe irayo ngaru srungìri (I thank you for the help)
(irayo si is the only si-verb where si can be placed freely)
Not that I would use it that often, but may I ask where you get that from? Can't remember Pawl ever commenting on that... :)

Irayo, ma Lance ... ::) seeing that I was the first to answer to that post, I realise that there are too many snibits scattered around everywhere ... time for that concise grammar, don't you think? :P

Ngayä should be ngeyä, and tawtute skxawng probably needs a "ma" before it.
[21:42:56] <@Muzer> Apple products used to be good, if expensive

Muzer got most of it but you also missed the fact that in na'vi word order doesn't show the role in the sentence like it doesn't in English so you have to use cases. In this instance, sngel is the object so it takes the accusative and becomes sngel-it and oe is the subject of a transitive verb (which basically means that there is an object) so takes the ergative case and becomes oe-l. Because the "tawtute skxawng" is being addressed it takes the vocative which, as Muzer said would be "ma tawtute skxawng". Other than that, it's pretty good, I might have to steal the idea of using it on telemarketers.

About the "tawtute skxawng" part, shouldn't one of those be an adjective? "Tawtute leskxawng" for example. Or are you using it as some kind of non-compounded compound? (And am I making any sense? :P)

kewnya txamew'itan

I think this is probably justified as a semi-compound, I seem to remember that when Jake is first brought to kelutral Eytukan makes some reference to "uniltìranyu tsamsiyu" (although I think the verb he used it with was transitive but I can't remember how he marked case).

Yeah, thanks for reminding me. I think he said "fìpo lu 'awve uniltìranyu tsamsiyu a tsole'a ayoengìl", marking only the ergative. I guess the "tawtute skxawng" can work like that too ^^

The le- prefix is not productive, so you would use -a- instead. Thus oel ke new ngeyä sngelit ma tawtute askxawng

I would go one step further:

oel ke new ngeyä sngelit ma vrrtepa tawtute askxawng

Yawey ngahu!

But you cannot attach the attributive marker -a- onto a noun (skxawng, vrrtep)!
You would have to go the complicated and wordy way of relative clauses
... ma tawtute a lu skxawng (why not go for the ma skxawng altogether?)

kewnya txamew'itan

Ma 'eylan ayfalulukanä, leskxawng is canonical though so it is reasonable. And Plumps is right that we have never seen "a" used with just a noun.

Since when/where?

kewnya txamew'itan

I could have sworn it was (and indeed I did :P)... I guess it's just that it was so widespread before we were told that it wasn't productive. Thank you for correcting me.

My bad on the askxawng. Got carried away on this one (but it is worthy of further work!)

I have not seen leskxawng, either.

Ma MIPP, le- isn't productive though so if we do write leskxawng, whilst a native would understand it (just like I'd understand "moron-y" as an adjective), it might be superseded at a later date with another word.

Then, I'd say:

Ma kewnya, nga skxawng lu! and not Ma kewnya, nga leskxawng lu!

Is that ok?
