Hey look, more in-progress Avatar sheet music! Well, the beginning of a quick transcription/arrangement. I'm hoping to transcribe the entire soundtrack for piano solo, since I doubt Fox has plans to release official sheet music.

Is there any interest at all for sheet music, btw?

If only I still played piano...I can play cello (at grade 8 level :D) and guitar :\

Hey, with some persuasion, we might get this pianistmto share with us his sheet music...

Heh, Kyle doesn't use sheet music - he plays by ear.

Nawma 'eveng

:o You know him? Or did you just read his info from his channel page?

And being an amateur pianist, it doesn't really matter if the player did it by ear or not does it? I mean he or she surely have written something down in order to play such a long and big piece...

That is my biggest failing when trying to play...  I need to get my Keyboard back... And start reading from sheet music again. =/

I'm currently trying to play this song... it's very hard but it's a fun thing to do!  ;)

If only there were words to it...then I could convince the Choir teacher at school to perform this at a concert.

There is the Leona Lewis version :

I've been playing the piano for just over nine years, but I never actually tried transcribing a track I like. Maybe now's a good time to try, I'll start with 'War' since I can basically tell the notes just by listening.
Keep going Seabass, I have a horde of friends at the conservatorium waiting for these notes! ;D

Woah, 8'th measure, holding do (left hand) is impossible. Did you mean for it to be repeated? (octave on second half of the 8'th measure, left hand seems most logical)

Ohey, 8-10 should be an octave lower. I blame my primitive 3-octave midi keyboard I use for all arranging. Btw, do you use Sibelius or Finale? I already started arranging War, mostly out of love for the second section. Those trumpet tuplets are my favorite part of the whole soundtrack.

You'll laugh, I use my piano  :-X
Thanks for the programs though, they should make things easier. I did say it's the first time I tried seriously transcribing anything.  :P

By the way, how the hell did you transcribe War's first 4 seconds? That bit drives me nuts, much like Becoming One...'s beginning did before I found your brilliant sheets.
Maybe after I'll put some more work into it and use Sibelius we could compare notes and improve the general 'fleshyness'.

War? Took ages to figure out the rhythm and make it work as a piano solo. Sample:

Hmmm everytime you post more sheet music, I get a little more sure that you are Horner is diguise.

I agree.  My piano skills are severly lacking but I'm all for cello/violin sheet music :)
